Property Ratings at Layers Galleria
This apartment complex is not a safe place anymore. My 2019 cadillac escalade suv platinum was stolen last Friday at 11pm inside covered parking garage. I have been living in this apartment for 3 years and will not be renewing my lease with them. This is not the only theft activity that have happened in this area, unfortunately it’s happening more often.So, be careful and check on your car from time to time also management was handling this situation very poorly and didn't post anything about this incident to warn their residents. If you’re considering this apartment complex I highly advise you to rethink your considerations.
The only good thing about this apartment is the location. Management doesn’t answer emails or phone calls, and the maintenance crew is a headache. We’ve had an ongoing leak/crack in our ceiling, and we’ve put in 3+ requests to have it looked at and fixed, and every time a worker comes out they say there is no leak … but since September the crack has tripled in size and there’s a huge water stain. They also always say “we’ll send someone out to paint over it” … which won’t fix the problem … and no one has ever come back to do that. Also, any time maintenance comes to change light bulbs or fix something, they leave trash behind. They left old lightbulbs laying on top of our fridge and left a fluorescent tube from our closet on the ground. Our rent went up almost $200 after a year of living here and it is NOT worth it. They have no cameras outside, and I learned that the hard way when my car was broken into. I recommend living elsewhere.
The apartments are beautiful and at a good rate. But the walls are VERY thin, you can definitely hear your neighbors. Also the hallways need attention. The office staff are nice but they never answer the phone. If you need assistance or need any help you have to walk into the office. There are 0 cameras outside the buildings so lock your doors and park in a safe area.
Great leasing team, but the gym needs attention, the hallways smell terrible most days, and living near industrial warehouses comes with noise risks.
The apartments and leasing building are beautiful but the staff is inattentive. Questions are only answered in person. Emails, phone calls, and online portals go unacknowledged.
Elan City Centre is the perfect place to come home to each day! A central location in DFW, a quiet community I find to be safe and surrounded by kind and helpful leasing staff. The units are nice and so is the community in general!
I have really enjoyed my stay at Elan City Centre so far, especially the coffee bar and lounge area. Its across the Galleria Mall which is really convenient and makes going out super easy and quick.
The staff at elan are great and always willing to help. Everyone Ive interacted with has been very friendly. The apartments themselves are clean and modern looking and the location is pretty great too.

We love Elan city centre! Great location ; galleria is just a short walk away. The interior of the apartment is nice and modern. Everything is up kept and clean throughout the complex by the friendly staff! It feels like youre living in a mini resort! With a great community of friendly people. The management puts together many events as well as giving out lots of goodies for the residents such as making waffles for everyone on Valentines Day just because or having food trucks come to the complex with complimentary champagne and more! Elan truly shows how much they care for their residents here. My wife and I love living here, we also take advantage of the awesome gym with a great view and in the summer the pool is nice! I even got one of my friends to move in here! Thanks Elan!!!

Elan is a cute and peaceful apartment complex - really feels like home which is why we picked to live here for 15 months! Plus, the layout is perfect for two people. Massive living room and kitchen with a double sink in the restroom connected to a walk-in closet - YES PLEASE! And something I didnt know if I would love or not is having the washer and dryer in the closet, we love it, super convenient. If you are looking for an apartment you must come look at Elan, you wont be disappointed.

Staff overall are amazing! Since my first tour and initial lease signing to moving to a bigger unit after lease was over during pandemic. Leasing agents are great, Bahati and Allison have been nothing but kind. Theyre always energetic and bumping into them around the complex is always a pleasure to see both ladies. Maintenance team, theyre on it. Never needed to wait for a service request to be completed and always leave a note when visiting. Now with COVID they wear proper coverings and ask questions just to protect both parties. Both gentleman, always forget to ask for names, are quick and effective on theyre job. AC went out and both gentleman were on it, even followed up with me in the halls to make sure things were still cooling. Teresa and Pamela are so sweet also, and do a fantastic job in keeping grounds clean.

The staff is amazing! But I think they may have limited resources. It feels like my building may be older . So theres issues with leaking when it rains. We addressed this right away and we were told theres nothing they can do. Theres a known roof repair thats needed thats pending repair and there was not ETA on when it will be repaired. During our 11 month stay it was never fixed. Our water quality is also rusty Im not sure if the pipes or just old or what. Theyve tried multiple things to fix that issue at least and nothing changed. We also experienced cracks in our ceiling inside and outside the apartment in the hallway. When putting in a request for this. They just put plaster over it and never painted over it and left it with spots on our floors. I think they should really look into renovating building 5.

Love the location and the fact that my apartment is centrally connected with the rest of DFW. Some of the amenities like the media room, the pool and the grilling station definitely make this place enviable in comparison to other apartment communities.

I enjoy living here. Location is best selling point right at 635 and DNT. This was also a place that had floorplans I liked, unlike tons of other complexes around here with unappetizing cookie cutter floorplans.

Not even 1 month in we have issues with our upstairs neighbor. I suggest everyone to not rent from here especially Greystar. Upstairs neighbor always stomping around at all times of the day and not only that the entire ceiling would creak so you they could be walking in the kitchen and you'd here creaking all the way in the living room. DO NOT LIVE IN APARTMENT 2111!! You'll regret it. Dogs constantly barking as I know they are animals but when you have inconsiderate neighbors who just leave their dog out in the pet yard all day and don't bring there dogs in can get it old really fast. I complained more than once and nothing was ever done about it. Our upstairs neighbors were not only stomping they always had parties until about 2am, again nothing was ever done about it. I talked to management as well as the courtesy officer and they both basically nonexistent. I highly suggest no one rent to from this terrible place as they don't care, they are not willing to help after several emails sent complaining about the issues that we came across. They also never respond to emails unless you send them about 5 about the same issue then maybe you'll get some generic response, then it takes another 2 weeks for someone to respond to that. The last issue we had was apartment 2111 has a pet yard and there is no drain in the yard, so every time it rained it flooded. They had sprinklers that would go off twice a day that would constantly keep the yard flooded which only carried in a bunch of mud from our dog. So frustrating. So you're paying for EXTRA for a yard that basically you can't even use. Makes sense. They again did nothing about that a decided that cutting down a tree would solve the problem, which it didn't. Management didn't even care enough to get out of their chairs from the office to just go look at our yard that was CLEARLY flooded, we had to send pictures which did nothing. We hated apartment 2111 so much we paid to break the lease that's how bad it was. I just want to reiterate DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. Greystar is a terrible company as well as Elan.

I have never ever written an apartment review before, but this apartment has prompted me to whip my computer out on a Sunday and write them a review. Please, take my well-rooted advice and stay away from these people. Save yourself the distress. To be honest, I would give a zero star review if I could. Initially, the apartment seems promising, and actually could be, but staff here constantly changes and the quality of the staff deteriorates with each new batch. The era of Melissa and Courtney was a pretty good one, but this new batch? horrendous. I am still yet to get my august lock (several months, reminders and bumped-up rent after the first promise of it), I have complained continuously of the horrid stench that oozes out of my extractor fan (yes, my extractor fan) and dishwasher and I was blatantly lied to regarding a $500 deposit which I was under the impression was given to me because of what I had put up with in my unit (smell, promised and undelivered upgrades and workers coming into my apartment and turning everything upside down - they had the audacity to do this even after I had called to say the workers should not come on that day and the staff assured me that they wouldn't. The workers then proceeded to leave all the nails and debris on my floor. It was a "wow" moment for me, because everything was going so well until this new administration.) Not to mention that the google home they promised and gave was a faulty little piece of junk that slept and woke up on its own accord. The staff can also be quite clueless - not knowing what the WiFi password is, not even knowing if there is WiFi or not, not knowing what is contained in the lease, agreement, not knowing when service requests will be fulfilled, not knowing this not knowing that, not knowing anything at all. I'll refrain from calling names because hey, who knows if these people will even be there tomorrow? A word is enough for the wise with this one. Amazing location - no doubt, but save yourself the heartache and give the other apartments in the area a look. I wouldn't live here again even if they paid me to. Courtney you rock, and words can not express how excited I am to be a residence of such a great community. My friends are very excited about me moving into a wonderful apartment community that no one has heard of. However my friends say now that they are very aware of such a great apartment community and that they will be telling everyone in the Dallas metro area about Elan Center Apartment community. I just renewed to stay another year here. The office personnel are right on top of things. Anytime I have had a request they have delivered above and beyond. The folks that live at the complex are very considerate of their neighbors. Very comfortable and easy access to many locations in Dallas, Plano area. The sitting area inside and out is special. They have very comfortable lounge chairs in the courtyard as well as the swimming area, which is Salt Water! Happy I found this complex. Sincerely, Debby Ramsey

Élan city centre are these amazing mid rise apartments in Addison that are surrunded by buildings making you feel like you're in the city without the traffic or noise. With belt line a few blocks away and 635 right around the corner you don't have to go anywhere far for every day neccessatities or to do something fun...hard wood floors granite countertops give it that modern feel for a price you Can afford.
I've been here for almost a year, the staff is very helpful and always in a great mood. The amenities are pretty great awesome pool. The down side is there is little parking and it is such a long walk to get anywhere. Also this is one of the few complexes in the area without an area for dogs. Everything else was great though.
I like living at Elan! The pool, apartment finishes, gym, theater are all great! The gym even has an on site trainer M-W for FREE! I love all that. The only down fall is the parking if you live in the apartment building closer to the Sheraton. The parking garage is convenient for those who live in the main building. I lived in the detached building so it gets annoying when the parking in front is full and I have to walk from the garage. The maintenance guys are pretty quick at responding to any request. Most are completed within 24 hours. I like this place, the parking is my only issue. I just signed my lease for a 2nd yr so its not too bad. I like that the apt host parties or little shin digs to give us an opportunity to mingle and the food is always great! lol.
It looks like an uptown apt but the clientele is not the same and the staff changes all the time
