This place would be 5 stars but it has two things holding it back. 1. They shut off the water at minimum 1-2 times per week. It’s ridiculous for the last 6-8 months it’s happened very frequently. I know a neighbor that is a stay at home moms when her husband is working during the day. How do they feed their kids? How do they bathe them? How do they make sure they have clean dishes/clothes on days like that? They don’t. I called the office to see if we could be compensated for the ridiculous amount of times that the water has been shut off for “repairs” and they said no. They’ve been “repairing” the water boiler for at least 6 months. It’s a joke. 2. You are forced to pay an extra $105/mo for cable/internet even if you don’t want it. Are you interested in maybe having wifi only? Or no wifi at all? Well too bad! The rent is kind of false advertising because they don’t tell you about the extra $105/mo until you show up for a tour/signing a lease. Other than that this place could be a 5 star place. They’re their own worst enemies here.

20 minutes agoNEW I am super disappointed and I regret signing a lease I am constantly seeing roaches and fruit flies. My toilet wouldn’t flush for the first week. My bathroom smells like mold/mildew and the shower doesn’t have hot water in one of the bathrooms. When I first arrived to Texas the day before I moved in. I came to check out the complex before I moved in and the unit I signed a lease for was unlocked I was able to walk right in. I have had multiple issues since moving in from the toilet looking absolutely disgusting and not flushing to seeing ROACHES EVERY DAY SINCE I MOVED IN, to a smell of mildew/mold coming from the bathroom seeping into the bedroom. I am so uncomfortable and I wish I would have never ever moved here. I want to move and I haven’t even been here a month. I asked before moving in was it roaches or pest and they keep saying it’s not a normal thing but pest control is here every two weeks? So make it make sense. I moved 1000 miles to be disappointed. I am not comfortable at all. On top of that I was originally going into a renovated unit and they put me in one that’s not and told me they would lower the rent and still didn’t. I have asked the office team to have the manager call but she has never reached out to me. I only get an email address. I have stopped by the office several times and a lot of the concerns have been addressed but i definitely do not recommend and I am currently looking for ways to get out of this lease. Roaches and disappointments is all I have experienced here and also not being able to shower in one of the bathrooms because the water doesn’t get hot. Poor paint job was done because there is little white paint speckles ALL THROUGHOUT THE UNIT. It was a leak in my laundry area and all my clothes got wet and the laundry room has been closed majority of the time I’ve been here. So many plumbing issues here I get an email every other day about them. Just terrible

SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE! I am a current resident and have been going back and forth with the property management over my air conditioner. Since I moved in during the middle of July I have not been able to keep my apartment at a reasonable temperature (I will say that they have replaced the inside and outside air conditioner unit of my apartment). During the day the temperature will reach 83* plus and will not cool below 80* until after midnight. I have provided pictures of the local temperature at 11:38 PM as well as a screenshot of the app for the smart thermostat to provide proof of my claim. I moved from out of state and did not have the option of viewing my apartment before signing the lease (Of which they knew). Online they only have 1 option viewed for my floor plan which shows a W&D connection however when I arrived to my apartment I found that the top floor units do NOT have connections however it does have a fire place. This apartment was "Renovated" causing my apartment to cost more than the listed price online and I when I got here I found a cracked window with a large hole in it. (This window was replaced a week later) 2 of the burners for my stove do not work. 3 weeks into living here I came home to 20-30 flies in my apartment even though I had my windows and doors shut. I have had to block off the fireplace in hopes that it would help cool my apartment, but that didn't work either. My downstairs neighbor smoke cigarettes inside which leaks into my apartment causing all of my clothes to smell like cigarettes. There is a large crack in the bathroom sink, and on average half of the washing machines in the laundry facility do not work. During my first couple of days I lived here the apartment staff did not submit my vehicle information in time and my car was towed. (They did reimburse me for the uber ride to pickup my car) The property manager has told me that they will do nothing more with the AC problem since they had a 3rd party company come out and inspect that everything is working properly.

I’ve reported bites immediately when I moved in. 5 months later, still dealing with them and being charged! I had all new furniture, hired professional movers. It’s been a nightmare, and now I am being charged for it despite the fact that I had reported this immediately. So frustrating!

Know before you reach out that you HAVE to use their cable/internet which is extra of course and they don’t tell you about it right away as most people don’t want to be forced into cable nowadays. Make sure to ask plenty of questions or just look elsewhere
Office people are nosey. You can't have guests for more than 3 days, they watch you, no privacy. Their hot water never works, they charge you for pest control but Ive been finding rat droppings on the stove. NO its not quiet. They charge you $30 just to pay your rent online, which is going to be about $100 more than what they say your rent is! The staff is just nosey and horrible at communicating with you!
Yeah I give it a demolition appointment rating. this placw should be called the rattison apartments because I encounted rats and mor rats in apartment 142 and after they finally gave me a new apartment ,the shower wouldnt work properly and the toilet seal on the bottom leaked out water. It has taken them two weeks or more to come fix the problemsssssss. Maintenance is always outside smoking and hiding and Paula and Vanessa are bullet dogers and cover ups for corporate. If you have legs run from this place
Can't ever get ahold of management, have not been able to have hot running water in my sink for the past three months because they seem to never have time to fix it. Paid rent for February and they accused me of not doing so, tracked my money order and it lead back to them when I confronted them about it they never returned my call!!!!
Communicating with management is impossible if you work Monday through Friday and live alone. When I call during work hours I get sent to a corporate office that creates a work order. This would work if management would see that the work orders get completed. However, I find myself going to the office every Saturday(the only time office hours are open and I am not at work and able to talk to them personally) to discuss work orders submitted in the past. For example, I submitted three on January 31, 2016 and have been to the office every weekend (Its now Feb 14, 2016) to address the work orders I have submitted. Meantime...I am without an oven. Very difficult to live here. I would like to discuss my lease with someone that makes decisions and come to an agreement with them on breaking my lease. Management does not provide the type of communication necessary to discuss my needs. I am trapped in my lease. These apartments also have hot water issues because they are on a boiler system so when a hot water line breaks...nobody has hot water. Last year I took a lot of cold showers before work and would have to boil water to do dishes. This year has been much better as they seem to have had only a handful of hot water issues and they are addressed quickly. Overall, I find it extremely difficult to live here in my situation.
I have lived here for 3 yrs and they turn the water off whenever they want with no notice to residents as well as the hot water boiler is allways breaking down which equals no hot water. Its been a nightmare and they want to raise the rent for the upgrades yet they can't take care the tenants. And if you call the parent company the lynd group they will not return the calls.
The new management for Hillstone On The Trail apartment homes has a fresh new vision for renovating the property. From the modern backsplash and sleek black appliances in the kitchen to the stunning wooden floors, Hillstone On The Trail is being reinvented into a beautiful new property. I can't wait to see all of the amazing features and remodel!
Overall, this complex is great for the price. When you only pay around $570 for a 791sqft apartment, you can't complain much, right? When my fiancé and I moved in, we had some trouble with the water heater, but they were fixing a main water line thing at the time. When the A/C is on for a really long time, it starts to drip. Luckily, my fiancé and I try to keep it off as much as we can. We've been meaning to go talk to the landlady about it, but he works full time and I'm in school full time and work part time, so we don't have much time. They seem to get right on major issues, I'm guessing by their working on the water line. Some of our lights went out and they came over right away to fix them. The complex itself is kind of run down, but again, with the price you're not expecting a grade A gated community. For a first apartment out on your own, I say it's pretty good. Can't beat the price! It's gonna kill us when we have to move closer to my school!
While I enjoyed the pricing of River Glen Apartments, there were many problems I experienced in my time there. The major problems consisted of the look of the place, and the amount of time (!!!!!!) it took for the staff to respond to a problem I as a resident had. Example: My refrigerator was having problems staying on (it was a breaker problem), I started telling them this in January of 2015. I left in June (problem still not fixed, even after telling them at least twice a month) to go get married in Missouri. I was gone the entire month of June and the first week of July. Guess what? You got it. My fridge turned off while I was gone, causing maggots and a dead flesh smell in my apartment. Now, while I was gone a different management company had taken over the apartment. When I got back and this problem happened, my fridge was taken out the same day I told them it happened, and a brand new one was delivered the next day. Also, any issue I had was fixed immediately. This new management seems it will be doing wonderful things, however I just could not stay after all of the issues I have gone through. The price is wonderful, and the new management seems better, but you are definitely getting what you are paying for.
I would not recommend this place to anyone! The management i con changing.
