Before 1958, Lee Hall was an independent village. Today, it’s a charming neighborhood in Newport News extending from the southern edge of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station to the peninsula that juts out into the James River. Lee Hall is named for Lee Hall mansion, a historic home built around 1851 that serves as a historical landmark.
Lee Hall is a scenic neighborhood that’s close to everything. Interstate 64 runs along the east side of town, and you’ll find Newport News Park nearby, one of the nation’s largest city parks, spanning over 8,000 acres. Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport and the Yorktown Battlefield-Colonial National Historical Park are nearby as well.

Property Ratings at Lee's Landing
Moved here almost a year ago when I first moved in things were great at the time it was MS.Teressa that was the front desk manager and she was outstanding. Unfortunately she was called away and replaced with a very ill-mannered young lady who other than accepting money orders is quiet unhelpful with anything else, especially anything having to do with the online payment system that most tenants use and is very crude when asked about it. Also the maintenance work that gets done is very amateur to say the least. If anything needs replacing or fixing you can bet a mess will be left behind and the job done very is amateur. The air conditioning will constantly go out or need to be recharged and they do not replace air filters. To be fair I think they are very understaffed which would explain their work behavior. The carpet put in very poorly with slack folded up. The walls are all dry wall no finisher easily damaged by children. Overall it's not a bad place just needs better staff.

I can't say enough for both, they truly are the best! You are never ignored and they do want their tenants to be happy! You call and your problem will be resolved quickly. I really love living here, it's ideal in so many ways!
We have been fighting with the apartment complex for 2 months about the sewer system and the terrible smell of the neighborhood. Now, the smell is stronger. The smell is now in our apartments especially if you live in the back. My apartment was so bad last week (August 3, 2018) that I couldn't even stay at my own house. They have been in the phone with the city if newport news for 2 months and no one has came out yet. Stay far far away. There is a reason so many apartments are empty and everyone that applies gets accepted to fill them. Stay far away!!!!
recently moved in and so far really loving it. people have been helpful and the peace and quiet is a very welcome change. the apartment has been updated somewhat and all works well
Looking for great location then this is it.I have only been in my new apartment for 4 months but so far so good. I love love my apartment. Close to the interstate, down the street from the mall. Grocery store is minutes away. The staff is wonderful and responds quickly to emails and phone calls. The maintenance is awesome!! Cowboy knows his stuff.I am enjoying my cozy apartment. Two thumbs up for me!!
I have lived in my apartment for over a year without a stitch for months. Loved the apartment and the complex. About 8 months into living there the office lost my rent check. They quickly took care of the situation and moved to automatic deduction but every month since then I have had an issue with my rent. EVERY month I have to go in and complain that something is wrong and needs to be fixed. The office staff ensures me that it is taken care of but every month there is an issue. I have no control over my account now that I have switched to auto payments and have asked multiple times for them to grant me access. I contacted the property manager and I didn't even get so much as a phone call about my problem; instead the passed me off to the clearly incompetent office staff. I am beyond sick of having rent issues that will eventually effect my credit. I moved to this complex because of a coworkers recommendation but I will NOT EVER be recommending anyone live here.

I have been a tenant at Lee's Landing for about three years and I haven't had any major complaints in that time. The office staff is competent and friendly. Maintenance is performed quickly and well. **The Apartment:** I live in a second floor unit with a vaulted ceiling in the living room and two balconies. The balconies are very nice and allow me to leave the sliding doors open for a nice cross-breeze, even during rain showers. The ceiling is a very nice touch and makes the room feel bigger. The kitchen is easy to work in and has more cabinet space and counter space than any I have seen in the area. The dining area is somewhat under-sized. You can't fit anything other than a 4 -place round table in it. Generally, the layout is very efficient, well-planned, and has almost no wasted space. The apartment unit has an excellent layout, but lacks in fit and finish. Every component and finish in my apartment is the least expensive available at the local hardware store. Everything works nicely, but much of it feels cheap and is poorly manufactured. The buildings lack proper insulation. The attic space needs about twice what it has and, in the winter, the building studs can be seen in the frost pattern on the exterior walls. The windows and doors are old and leaky. Heating and cooling costs are very noticeable in the warmest and coldest months. Sadly, poor insulation is a common problem among apartments of this age in this area. **The Property:** The property is located in a small, secluded residential area and is very quiet. The loudest noise you'll hear is the morning birdsong. Road noise is nearly non-existent, which is surprising for the area. A distant train whistle can be heard from time to time. The neighbors are very quiet. The trade-off for quiet environment is location. The area is not close to any downtown. Any night life is at least 20 minutes driving. The nearest (mediocre) grocery store is 3 miles away. The nearest (good) grocery store is a 15 minute drive. On the positive end, Newport News Park, Yorktown Beach, and Historic Williamsburg are all fairly close. The apartment complex has a standard layout for mid-80's construction. The complex lacks green space, but it backs up to a forest which is very nice. On the other side of that forest is Skiffes Creek, which is picturesque, but tidal. Low tide on a hot summer's day can be a little unpleasant if the wind comes from that direction.

If you should need anything please do not hesitate to contact the leasing office.
The apartment is a good size, and are fairly well kept. Each unit comes with a washer/dryer unit, and water and sewage is covered in the rent which is great. The monthly rent is about on par for the size and the area. It is also nice because it is within a neighborhood, and more off the main road. It can be a bit far from a lot of bigger stores and restaurants, but there are gas stations, some fast food places, and a grocery store within a few miles. It's is also very close to Fort Eustis, and so is ideal for military families. The area is normally relatively safe, although I should add that someone recently broke into my apartment using a key. Just something to keep in mind in general: make sure your apartment landlord definitely changes the locks before you move in. They are always supposed to, but this is not always the case obviously. Or even better: change them yourself, and give the landlord the new key just in case.
