If you live anywhere near the state of Alabama, you're probably already aware of what you'll find in Tuscaloosa: the University of Alabama (Roll, Tide!). As the oldest and largest university in the state, UA was founded in 1820. It is a top-ranking public research university and it has one of the winningest college football programs in US history. The Crimson Tide football team is part of the NCAA Division I SEC and has a total of 16 national championship titles.
And while there's more to living in Tuscaloosa than cheering on the home team at the Bryant-Denny Stadium, you'll probably want to pack your crimson and white. As a college town, Tuscaloosa has its fair share of off-campus housing and apartment communities, but you'll find there's plenty more to this dynamic city. Tuscaloosa is located along the Black Warrior River roughly 56 miles southwest of Downtown Birmingham. Tuscaloosa offers a variety of museums, theaters, shops, and restaurants to explore.

Property Ratings at Legacy at Country Club
I moved her a few months ago because of my job. I love it so much, and my children do too. The price is good compared to living in Atlanta, so we can now afford to go on vacation this summer. You need to come see it for your self. I would like to see the courtesy office more, but the staff is nice to me and my family.
Property Manager at Legacy at Country Club, Responded To This Review
We're glad to have you as a resident here! Thank you for choosing to live with us.
I lived here for far too long and encourage you to RUN as far away from here as you can get. Management changed at least three times in one year without notification. Apartments are old and in bad shape structurally- floors creak badly and have soft spots. Management lied about everything. Maintenance would not do the simplest repairs. The "courtesy officer" is a joke- I never saw him once. Office would not answer phone calls or emails. They lose paperwork and overcharge for fees and never apologize for any inconveniences they cause. When the rent increased $130 from my sign on amount it was past time to leave.
Online this apartment states that it is undergoing renovations. If you count a new stove as “renovation” then that’s about all they did. Also when I called to ask they said the one bedroom had washer dryer hookups. They do not. The 1 bedroom was a complete mess and was honestly disgusting. There was also the problem of the management. While the main lady who helped me did a good job, the other lady who “helped” us was very rude. She puts on a nice facade to begin with but quickly shows that she can’t be bothered to help any of their clients. By the time we left to go look at the apartment she had already started to ignore her work to order food (not a crime but how long does it take to order food? Apparently 45 minutes because she was still ordering when we got back). We had called earlier in the day and no one was answering the phone. (We have called several times over the past few months and no one ever answers the phone or calls back). We viewed the apartment (it was literally the most disgusting thing I had seen in a while) and were very disappointed. My mother went back in just to make sure she couldn’t get her money back. That same rude women who had been ordering lunch very ruled told my mother “that little girl and her friend came by here and they knew there were no washers and dryers, there ain’t no refund”. She was very rude and all the while refused to give my mom the time of day as she continued to order her food. I’m very thankful of the lady who came in on her day off because her child was sick. But the other management in this place was awful. Not to mention she had 6 inch nails. Everything she did was super slow. Those nails are not practical in work environment were you type all the time.
This complex is on the south end of Tuscaloosa but still close to restaurants, grocery stores, schools, and gas stations. The apartment grounds are well kept and the environment is safe. I have never once felt afraid to take a walk alone or walk to the dumpster. There is a laundry room on site for $2.25 a load to wash and dry. The tennis court area and workout room are also nice amenities that are always well kept. The pool area is not as nice as I have seen at other complexes and the pool floor is often dirty. The one bedroom unit is spacious enough for a couple to share comfortably, however there is no bedroom door- the stairs lead straight into the actual bedroom so if there is company downstairs, you really feel as though you don't have much privacy upstairs in your bedroom. Staff members are the kindest you will ever meet, issues are taken care of quickly, and follow-up is always done when problems are reported. It has been a pretty good first apartment experience.
