Property Ratings at Legacy Village Apartment Homes
Management is nonexistent. Constant emails after 5pm telling you that there is schedule maintenance the next day that can happen at anytime. You will come home multiple times to someone being in your apartment without your consent. Usually closed a couple days a month just to catch up on work. Impossible to get ahold of and communicate with anyone.

I lived in Legacy Village apartments for about 3 years. I am moving out and glad I am doing so. The appliances are cheap and break often. You're going to constantly have to call maintenance so you'll have people coming in and out of your apartment often. Management blows up your e-mail with annoying spam. Their primary objective is profit maximization rather than delivering a quality residential experience. They strategize to get the most out of you by subtly embedding slick clauses into the lease agreement. The washing machine shakes uncontrollably sometimes. It sounds like stomping and if you live on the 2nd or 3rd floor it sounds like someone is jumping up and down. The dishwasher leaks all over the kitchen. My kitchen sink leaked so bad everything got molded and destroyed underneath it. The cabinet rotted and the wood fell off. They had to redo the entire cabinet but didn't fix it. They had to come back multiple times. Turns out they didn't install the sink correctly. There was supposed to be a ring under the kitchen drain strainer that they never installed so whenever I would fill my sink and plug it, all the water would leak down into the cabinet below. There is a spigot above your bathtub that drips cold musky water when you have your heat or air conditioner unit on. There are air pressure imbalances in the apartment and are noticeable when you have your air conditioner unit on and your door closed but not locked. This leads to the bedroom door to open and close by itself. The doors do not have very good knobs on them. You have to lock the door because if you leave it unlocked the pressure imbalance will open the door and then slam it shut. It's spooky and annoying especially at night when you're trying to sleep and the door is opening and closing on its own. Be diligent with your lease agreement! It contains several hidden charges. A significant clause that caught me off-guard was the requirement to notify management 60 days in advance of the lease's natural expiration if you plan not to renew it. Failure to do so results in a penalty, even if you vacate the premises on the expiration day. This oversight led me to a predicament where I was compelled to either pay a $1100 re-letting fee or submit a 60-day notice and bear the cost of an additional month despite not residing in the apartment. This typical revenue generation tactic shows no leniency, and management remains focused on making money.
I have lived here a long time and it used to be nice. There is a major rat infestation. They are inside the walls of the complex and the complex does nothing about it. I have complained numerous times and sent audio recordings to the office multiple times. Do NOT sign a lease here.

Hello, We are sorry to learn of your disappointment with your time in our community. Our community receives preventative pest treatments on a weekly basis and individual apartments receive pest control services as needed. Please submit a request through your ResApp to schedule a pest control appointment for your apartment. We encourage residents to get a preparation checklist from us to help ensure the treatments efficacy. Sometimes these situations require multiple treatments, and we recommend requesting pest control until activity is no longer detected. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to assisting! Kind Regards, Madison
Like living in a sewer. I live near a garage that has putrid smelling dumpsters. Seems they haven’t been given even a rinse in many years. Smell is fowl. Front office staff took my complaint and nothing was acted on. There are rats everywhere in these dumpsters and the apartment will do nothing about it.
Can we talk about trash? There are 2 trash rooms on each floor. You can open any trash room door only to be greeted by a massive pile of trash in FRONT of the trash chute door. Bugs and rodents have taken up residence here for this reason. THEY HAVE ELEVATORS!!! The elevator might work one may two days a week at best. Be prepared to use the stairs. Other things to note: they stopped cleaning the buildings in the middle of a Pandemic. They went from 9 maintenance people to 3 for the whole complex. (good luck getting any repairs!) Loud neighbors. Vomit...in the hallways, outside the entrance gates, in the parking garage. Dog waste. Terrible leasing staff. Do yourself a favor, and keep looking.

Hi, We are truly sorry and saddened to read of your poor experience. We encourage our residents to reach out to the office and submit a service ticket for any areas of the community needing attention so our team can address them promptly. We appreciate your feedback and will use it as an opportunity for improvement. Please feel free to reach out to WeCare@udr.com if there is anything we can do to assist you now or in the future. Kind regards, Rachel C.
I lived here for multiple years. This apartment complex is the nastiest most unkept place. From dog poop all over the walk ways, side walks, grass, elevators, overflowing from dog bins to beer cans, trash, literal full trash bags left in the grass next to the buildings. I can’t express enough how awful my experience here was. Here will be your experience here- trash left everywhere, dirty hallways, non operating elevators, gates or doors non operating, dog waste in hallways and very inconsiderate neighbors who can’t clean up after themselves. Management does not call back, like ever- you just get the call center and a, “someone from the office will get back with you” (in 5-7 business days!). Maintenance will show up if you’re persistent. You’ll probably notice funny things like your blinds installed backwards, cupboards hanging open, incorrect locks/not changed, paint smeared on wood and floors, broken appliances, etc! Fun! I would be nicer about it but they take weeks- months to fix any issue. Even the area is going downhill with crime, shootings, robberies. I also drove by and noticed someone had ran through the dog park. It’s crazy that I drove by TWO weeks later and they still didn’t put up caution tape, remove the sharp metal OR remove the literal pieces of CAR left there.. Lastly, there is no parking. So much so that everyone parks in fire lanes and creates their own spots. If there was an emergency, this would be an absolute disaster. Don’t be fooled by the “super affordable unit they can’t believe you found!” And pictures they show you or the model apartment, just to get an actual apartment where everything’s trash. This complex should not be allowed to operate like this. Anyway, if you’re ok with no standards- you won’t mind living here. I posted this to other sites and I was very surprised to see that they had such a high rating on apartments.com. Very disappointing, that’s probably how they are getting people in.
Been here 5 years. Maintenance is responsive and friendly. Nice to live close to restaurants and bars. Office is not responsive. My Feb 2021 in person visit, they promised to follow up, but did not, and ignored my emails and text messages. I simply wanted to review my renewal offer and they couldn't manage to respond to me. Also rent went up so high my renewal offer was $250 higher than new tenants. Good for a time but eventually they charge too much and don't provide any customer service outside of maintenance. Also the ice machine in my fridge broke within 6 months of moving in and they refused to fix it.
Take everything thing in written first from them. Before sign read the agreement they will charge unnecessarily at end. Management is too worst. No pest control in the house. AC is working very poor. Having internet issue in the houses. You will found best apartments near community Post legacy. They are nice with their management and they won’t charge you unnecessarily.

Hello, Thank you for providing feedback. I apologize but I don't see anything on your account about internet issues. I've determined that our maintenance team responded to all requests and addressed your A/C concern. Our team responds to each maintenance concern as they come in, and our team does there best to address concerns in a timely manner. There were 2 items that had a little bit longer of a wait time due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Our lease agreement explains all charges and breaks down rent. Our team allows plenty of time to review the lease before signing it. As far as move-out charges, our billing department handles those concerns. Please contact the billing department at, billing@udr.com We appreciate you choosing our community as your home and we hope to have the opportunity to gain your trust back. Kind regards, Quay Neach 720-348-7620 WeCare@udr.com
This place is only viable if you want to say you live at the shops at legacy. Meanwhile almost all the resturants and bars on this side have closed. There was a MURDER in the parking garage and they will not increase security. If you live on the ground floor you will have rats in your walls. They dont seem to care - one died in our wall and took them a week to come check it. Please dont make the same mistake we did!!!
Thomas, my leasing agent, was amazing. The process was so easy I had to ask a couple times if I was missing something but I wasn’t! While I did have a few maintenance issues when I moved in, the maintenance staff was quick in fixing it and were incredibly polite and considerate! If you’re looking at other places to rent STOP, just go ahead and live here!!! It’s amazing!!!
The service is ridiculous awful!! They never reply emergency email in time and the call picker is very rude and NOT listen to your problem at all. They can solve no problem and even won't apologize. They promised that they have safe package locker, but in fact, the locker is additionally charged and not safe at all, it cannot even hold large box. So your package will be left outside and disappear and nobody will take responsibility. Who will live in an apt that cannot receive package as normal???
This complex is incredibly unprofessional. I tried emailing them all week for pricing and availability and never received a response. I decided to set up a tour in hopes of finally getting to talk to someone. I called them before the tour since I never got to choose which unit I wanted to view. I didn't get to speak with anyone until I had already arrived there, and they told me they didn't have any units that would work for me. It was a huge waste of time.
management does not manage and the buildings are old and poorly maintained; the roof over my apartment unit (top floor) leaked in 5 places, 4 times over 10 months and they refused to fix it; walls and ceilings are thin enough to hear neighbors conversations; residents pile trash outside of shoots

Hello, I am sorry to see your home experience an ongoing leak. Our maintenance team works hard to resolve maintenance requests promptly and completely. I apologize that this was not your experience. We wish you the best in your new home. Best regards, Bree Flanigan 720-348-7620 WeCare@udr.com
Legacy Village apartments are infested with Roaches! Beware of this apartment property with there high prices and low policy standards. The front office will try to transfer you into an new apartment but expect you to sign a additional 12 month extension. All tents within my building are dealing with roach problems and Legacy Village/ UDR are not taking the matters serious. Do not refer anyone to live here! Please Share!
I can hear my neighbor snoring every single night. Their solution for me is to transfer to another unit but, I would have to pay higher rent and moving cost AND STILL run the risk of living next to a neighbor that snores. The snoring is so loud I have to call into work due to no sleep.

Hello Shel, I am sorry that you are experiencing noise issues. I just looked at what was coming available and we may have an option for you that would be very close (if not less) than your current rent. Please contact the leasing office or me to discuss. Best regards, Jody Conley 720-348-7620 WeCare@udr.com
Lived here for 5 months before the maintenance guy was getting drunk on his patio (yes he also lived on site) and was verbally harassing those that walked past. When the police got called because he was so wasted, he retaliated against my car and unit to the point I had to break the lease. They hit my credit with an $8,000 charge, and wouldn't allow me to get my possessions.
I would not recommend living here. The only decent thing is the location- but definitely not worth it- or pay more to live at another complex in the area. The parking is horrible- I did learn to accept that and from reading reviews before moving here I did know that so that wasn't a surprise. But the actual management is what I had a problem with. When you go into the office they are more concerned with helping prospective residents than actually assisting their current residents. They need to have someone designated at the desk to be able to answer simple questions. The package delivery system does have it's flaws. I signed up for the parcel lockers right when I moved in, but I still had packages lost several times, and still never found out where they went. ***The biggest surprise to me was after I moved out, I received a bill for cleaning and carpet cleaning. I have never been charged a dime when moving out of an apartment complex- I keep my place pretty clean and have no pets. I spent hours cleaning it and definitely left it in better shape than when I moved in (it was pretty disgusting and dusty when I moved in). But yet they still charged me. When I gave my notice I even asked if I could have a walk through with someone to make sure I wouldn't be charged for anything, and they said no they don't do that and someone would be coming by to look at it before I moved it (they left me a note that they entered my apartment over a month before I moved out but didn't say anything about it so I assumed all was good). Considering they don't take care of the common spaces in the complex (the halls are filthy, the floors are disgusting, it smells, needs some paint, lots of cracks etc), and I had a neighbor break down their door one night and the office didn't fix it for weeks (super safe place to live....) charging me a cleaning fee is pretty hypocritical to me. But I guess that's how they are funding their leasing office renovation- once again proving they care more about getting new people in the complex than the actual people who live there. Even if you think you can look past most things and are a responsible person and clean and don't care about how the leasing office is because you think it won't matter, don't make the same mistake I did and move here. I have never had to write a negative review before, but I don't want you making the same mistake I did!
Save yourself from this horrible place. I got my final bill and was told by Lauren in the front office that i wouldn't get any late fees if I paid my rent and not the Utilities. Now i have a final bill of over $170 dollars in Late fees and billing is so rude that they wont help you. UDR really sucks. I should have followed my instinct and never chosen this property.
WARNING!!!! DO NOT RENT HERE, they have a parking nightmare and they will not tell you that. They only give one parking sticker per adult tenant and if you have more than one vehicle, they will tow it and you will have to pay 300.00 to get your car back from South West Auto Tow. I know several tenants there complaining always about the same; their cars have been towed several times too. At night when parking is full, you have to go other garages or even considering leaving your car in the street several blocks away because parking lots are not enough. If you have family or friends, their cars will be in danger to be towed too and they will have to go park to the public garage of The Shops at Legacy center or the streets. They always have issues with the access to the buildings and trash dumpsters are always producing nasty smells in the halls to get to the apartments and the stairs. I tried to handle the parking problem with management but they were not willing to resolve it and I am moving out. WARNING!!!! DO NOT RENT HERE
Great apartment complex!! Excellent customer service and staff!!
My boyfriend's family lives here and it is awful. Stuff constantly breaks (dishwasher, oven, dryer, disposal, sink) and the maintenance guy is impossible to get ahold of. Not only that, but the office closes early so often. They also charge you for everything like parking spots closer to the door in the garage. Plus, several (6+) cars have gotten broken into in a parking garage in the past 6 months because there is only 1 camera for 5 floors. For how much you pay monthly, this is ridiculous.
Called in for A/C service for three times in 1.5 weeks. Today A/C was completely out due to no battery. Emergency services was called; however, representative denied the service due to company policy that prevents not to response if the weather is 72F or below. My weather.com shows 74F, A/C thermo showed 78F and 80F accordingly. It is all around that no one at this place has customer service in their mind.
Live here if you agree with the staff that bedbugs still makes a unit habitable. When notified they will make you wait until their pest control can take care of it which takes days and say they are helpless until then leaving you in an infested space. Paying for pest control and preventative maintenance but you're likely to walk into a unit already rampant with bugs. Will not take responsibility for anything!
A walk through before turning in the keys does not guarantee they won't surprise you with extra charges on your final statement. Make sure you get everything in writing. Record it if you have to. My walk through passed, reassured, was told everything was good to go. After I turned in my keys they sent me a statement saying I needed to replace brand new carpet in the bedroom and charged me for it. They sent a photo of the alleged stain, but it wasn't even of my bedrooms (I can tell because the shades were different length from my bedroom shades). Whose unit is it and why are they using another unit's photos to falsely charge me?
I've lived at the Shops at Legacy for over 6 years and it's definitely grown since I've moved here. I've lived at the Legacy Village Apts for a little over 3 years and I've had a pretty decent experience. In my experience, the staff has been attentive and helpful (minus a few people in the office I simply avoid). Maintenance requests are handled quickly. The location is perfect for some great eateries/drinkeries. With Toyota and the new Cowboys complex, the area is soon to grow even more. The neighborhood is generally safe, but there's a definite sense of suburbia. It's OK for some, but can sometimes get monotonous. Overall, a good place to live, especially for being north of 635.
These apartments have been really great! The move in was easy and the workers at the front office are very helpful. The only complaint that I could have is the parking situation. But other than that this a great place to live!
I love my new apartment. The staff is very awesome. Katie was awesome at move in. She followed up with me after my move in. I have never gotten that anywhere. My new apartment is very close to my job. The community is very quiet and everyone respect each other. I love the activity website where you can see what is for sale from my neighbors, pay rent, and see other activity. I would 100% recommend this property!!!!!!!!!!
Love this place - I have lived here for over 2 years now and the ammenities are great, but most importantly to me is that the staff is more than willing to go above and beyond to assist you with any problems or concerns you have. Very professional and very respectable team all around. Would definitely recommend people to live here!
Great apartment with excellent local amenities. There are issues such as parking, lack of regular cleaning of hall ways and covered spaces. Overall great value for the cost; could be excellent with some management improvements.
These apartments are great. Maintence and personnel are very helpful and quick when it comes to fixing problems or whatever issues you are having. great place to live and decently priced as well.
Area has conveniences, commute is a bear and the elevator in my building goes out fa too often. There's rents are way higher than should be although because of tenure he I paylessthan first timer renter. Help!!!!!!
If you're lucky enough to be able to afford one of these apartments you won't be disappointed. You can't beat the proximity to such a diverse selection of restaurants, bars, salons and shopping (although most seems to be geared towards ladies). These apartments give you a walkable downtown feel without the insane traffic! Unfortunately, the rates have been increasing every year as development in the area progresses. The staff, as the title suggests, is quite friendly but we've had a couple issues with package delivery notifications never being sent. Otherwise, highly recommended!
