Situated off the western shores of the Texas Gulf Coast bordering rugged Brush Country, Kingsville maintains deep historical roots while embracing modern industry. Kingsville is perhaps best known as the home of the King Ranch, which is one of the largest working ranches in the world, covering more acres of land than the state of Rhode Island. The King Ranch is a major agribusiness with interests in cattle ranching, farming, luxury retail goods, and recreational hunting.
Kingsville also contains Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Naval Air Station Kingsville, which contribute to the growing local economy. In addition to the combination of history and modern industry, Kingsville offers residents small-town charm and a slower pace of life. A host of quaint shops, boutiques, and cafes line Kingsville’s historic downtown while annual events like the Halloween Carnival, Ranch Hand Festival, and Kleberg Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show bring the community together on a regular basis.

Property Ratings at Solana Ranch
The staff is terrible! Management won't help you out. They are all about the money, and complaining won't do anything. There are bugs everywhere, and if you dont live in a new building, your apt won't look like the pictures. My AC has been leaking for over a year now, and they have yet to fix it. I pay over priced energy bills simply because they need to come change the filter every month or so. TERRIBLE! Unless that's the only option you have.... I'd never. Oh, and you could NEVER get out of your lease due to COVID. There is no such thing as early move out, or an understanding staff. Like I said... ALL ABOUT THE MONEY
Free amenities such as gym and computer room not regularly cleaned or stocked. Exterior not cleaned regularly; overflowing dumpsters and gross stairwells result. My room was not clean when I moved in;I had to clean it myself. Had a roach issue when I moved in and had to tell the office 3 times before they sprayed the unit.
Absolutely terrible. My car has been broken into multiple times when it was locked. No security. My friends vehicles have been broken into as well. Bugs. Everywhere. My apartment was infested with flees and roaches. I was constantly cleaning and calling pest control but it never helped.
I’ve been here for about a month and a half and so far it’s horrible. At first I was excited because it’s a nice apartment (well the corridor is ugly), dog-friendly, and across the street from the school. BUT in those less than 2 months, the WiFi has gone out several times which is ridiculous since they advertise themselves as student living (what student doesn’t need WiFi?). And honestly, when the WiFi does work, it’s not that great anyways. I bought a cable to connect my laptop to my printer so I can print because the WiFi isn’t strong enough to connect my printer wirelessly (my printer did connect wirelessly at Newman Hall). Management sends emails threatening us because some people do bad things, the most recent is them threatening us to pick up after our dogs, which is obviously a reasonable request. My issues are: 1.they THREATEN their residents and 2.There are wasps living inside the only “doggy bag” station in the dog run, so I just take bags from a different station and take them with me when I take my dog out. Before I moved in, I went online to make sure I didn’t have any unpaid charges, and I didn’t. During the move in process, an employee checked on her computer to make sure I didn’t have any charges before moving in, and I didn’t. I checked my online bill again a few days later, and they apparently got around to posting certain fees that should have been posted and paid for by the time I moved in. Therefore, I had to pay a late fee since they made a mistake. Upon moving in, the deadbolt lock on the door was uneven, making it impossible to lock, but my dad managed to fix it. When we were cleaning, my dad picked up the drawers in the bedroom so we could clean the carpet underneath, and we found a pair of men’s underwear. Considering I’m female, I can only assume this wasn’t a house warming gift from legends. I have friends who have had much worse issues that management/maintenance took their time to get to, such as a non-functioning door lock, so she couldn’t lock her apt when she left. They took days to fix that. Another friend had a flea infestation upon moving it and it was only recently resolved after she finally threatened them with their own contract. My only issue with residents is that there are several people who walk their dog without a leash, I love dogs but my dogs don’t love other dogs. If one day your free-roaming dog comes up to my dog’s face and she attacks it, is it really my dog’s fault? She was on a leash to prevent that.
Once you moved in to an apartment, you are stuck in that unit. They don't let you move to another unit with your friend or upgrade to another unit (For example you want to upgrade to 2-room instead of 4 room-unit). Once you choose to stay at Legends, you are stuck there unless you move out. I've never ever seen such a ridiculous policy, out of hundreds of people, only 5 people a year get to transfer if they want to!!!!!!!
I lived at the legends for a year and a half, and all I can say is that this place does not care about its occupants. The buildings flooded during rains and soaked my carpets and ruined one of our rugs(they didn't replace). We have had many issues with the staff telling us one thing and ping the other. If you are looking to rent here then you should know they will milk every dime out of you they can. We lived on the first floor and every time they hired lawn care our patio and patio furniture was covered in grass, when I asked them to tell the lawn company to blow off the patios that they left a mess they told me that was my responsibility. as much as they charge for rent they do the least to satisfy their occupants when confronted with an issue. Horrible service Poorly built Only concerned about the money
This hands down the best place to live in Kingsville regardless of what all the people say! Staff is great and their maintenance crew are the best! They fixed everything in my apartment immediately! People should probably read a lease instead of arguing about not being let out of one! But overall best place to live in this town!
I love living here at Legends at Kingsville! The staff is very nice and helpful. The living area keeps upgrading which is very exciting to see! I plan on living here until I graduate!
Legends is an amazing place to live. The staff has been so helpful and accommodating when it came time to move in and even handling my issues. It really is one of the best places to live. Legends does so much to make sure the residents are happy and satisfied. They really strive to make sure the residents needs are number one priority.
Okay, so for those of you looking for an awesome place to live, DO NOT chose to live at The Legends at Kingsville. My friend had wanted to move in but apparently over 180 students had been forced to live in hotels because this complex bailed on their opening date and still continue to refuse to allow any students to break their lease. Horrible. So, buildings have been condemned and I cant even imagine how many other problems they're going to have. Read the article that the South Texan News website wrote regarding this entire mess. Its ridiculous.
I would NEVER choose to live at The Legends at Kingsville. Over 180 students were forced to live out of hotels and Newman Hall, which is not equal to the amount of rent they were forced to pay! Staff refused to let students out of their lease, so they were forced into these other options while still paying rent on an apartment they have never seen. Some residents having to drive across town, when they specifically picked Legends at Kingsville to be a walking distance from the school. Others living in a cheap room without a kitchen, when they selected Legends to have their own FULL kitchen. Even though the buildings are no longer condemned problems still continue to arise. An article with more information can be found at the South Texan website. If you don't want to deal with poor managers that refuse to speak with residents, I suggest you go elsewhere. The customer service is even worse than the quality of the apartment!
