Property Ratings at Lev Apartments
I lived here for a few years and I honestly did not enjoy most of it. Sure, the location is good for students and rent is (for now) not too high, but that's about where the benefits end. Most of the people renting here are students but there is also a fair share of older adults. In my experience, students weren't much of an issue but the older people can be the worst, ranging from loud to creepy to just downright rude. I've seen and heard multiple screaming arguments between other tenants, and I've even seen people get arrested not 20 feet outside of my door (not once, but twice). Speaking of people, management is about as distant and uncaring as can be. Repair requests will be ignored, the office WILL be closed when you need help even if you're within office hours. In my experience, they likely won't confront an issue (like a broken water heater) or problem neighbor until it's gotten out of hand or multiple people have reported it. I recall reading in my lease that tenants are responsible for ensuring that the furnace filters are replaced - yet the furnace in my kitchen has a large padlock preventing this. This is just another example of the blatant disregard for tenants and the property at large. The room itself isn't exactly great, either. The walls and doors to the common kitchen and outside are paper-thin so you'd better believe you will hear and smell everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that happens in the kitchen whether you like it or not. the (tiny) Bathroom fixtures were downright ugly or gross in my unit - the underside of the toilet seat was caked in who-know-how-old urine and I ended up replacing the thing myself because it was so gross. The AC won't quite keep the place cold on the hottest days which is not fun. You're gonna be sharing the furnace with all the other people in your kitchen so you better hope they aren't rude about the temperature. Overall if you're a student looking for a studio and can't afford much more or just need a cheap place to live, you might be able to stick through it in this place for a year or two but you certainly will not enjoy it.
They do not care about you, only your money. I had no WiFi for months they said “we’ll look into it”. Sure. As a student it sucks. The whole property is basically falling apart. Expect lots of ants in the summer... every summer. New kitchen appliances paint and floor only in kitchen increased rent by $200 in one year. Can’t wait to see how much they increase it to this year. Fingers crossed!
I would like to give this place a negative star rating, but one star will do. The people in the front office will always make excuses about why they are too lazy to get off their butts do something about all the complaints from multiple people including myself. There is constant noise that happens 24/7, yes that includes in the middle of the night. There are people that are constantly slamming the doors, I actually mean literal slamming. There's another person that's stomping around and constantly dropping something on the floor at 4 in the morning. Cleaning service is suppose to come in once a month and clean out the kitchens; however, that doesn't happen. The 6 months I've been living here, the cleaning service came once, I go and turn on the stove and I swear that stove started to smell like gun powder, few minutes later it started to spark. Another thing, they won't let you see the room before you sign the lease, and some of the rooms are even renovated out and they still want you to pay for the additional renovation fees and they refuse to renovate it at all. If the place is renovated, it really isn't when you get a closer look. The tub is resurfaced, meaning it was painted over and all the nasty crud is still underneath. The cabinets are poorly painted, the floor is uneven, the lights are extremely old. DON'T live here it's all a lie, all they want is your money. I wouldn't even ask of my worst enemy to live here. It's a dump, find somewhere else to live
I have lived here for a year! I love my apartment. I’ve had no issues or do I have any complaints about the neighbors. I feel safe! It’s a fantastic location next to UNR. I take my grandchildren To the park that is in walking distance. My maintenance orders have been resolved promptly and professionally. The staff has always been courteous, helpful And most of all pleasant. I would recommend this apartment complex to all my friends and family!
These apartments were a nightmare to live in since new management came around. There seemed to have been no communication between the previous management and the new, as the notes on some of the resident's accounts seemed to have disappeared. I had arranged a move out date with the previous manager which the new management did not honor and charged me full months rent for a time I was not even staying in the apartments. I did a complete deep cleaning all day, even though the apartment was stained in the carpets and in the bathroom when I moved in, and I was still charged a cleaning fee which took almost half of my security deposit. The new management also did not listen to complaints about noisy neighbors who took over the kitchen at all times (even at 2:00 am) and had the audacity to come for me when asking to pay for kitchen cleanup when I did not use the kitchen once during my stay. The apartment itself is tiny, and there is not much room if you have a bed. Apartments (when I first moved in) provided furniture including a desk, two tables, lamps, and a filthy cigarette burnt couch. Management would not move the couch out so I had to move it myself so that I could fit my full sized bed into my room, which was difficult with only one guy (me) moving the very heavy furniture. Living in the bottom apartments rather than the top apartments were also disgusting, as there was mold on the bathroom ceiling from the unit above mine. The location was the only good thing about these apartments as it was across from the Lawlor Event Center at UNR and very close to UNR's gym. Parking is a nightmare in the complex if you lived in the front units, as the lines on the spaces are disappearing, leading to chaos when trying to park (luckily I lived in the back). The cost of this apartment, even though it might be the cheapest in Reno, is astonishing for what is provided, and I believe the new management has also raised it since I left. I would avoid this apartment complex if you can, unless you want to be constantly disappointed by management. Please take it from me, if you think you can grin and bear it, you can't. This place is small, dirty, and completely terrible as I'm sure most of the people who lived there would agree.
