Property Ratings at Liberty on Freedom
Very unsafe as the outside lights do not work. Apartments have one maintenance issue after another. Front office staff does not answer their phone nor return calls. It took them two weeks to respond to this and not once have my daughters, nor I received returned phone calls when we left messages with the office despite what they said in their response below. It is all for show. Just checked with my daughter (10/12) and the lights directly outside their apartment, along with most of the lights on that floor are out, including the ones that light up the stairs at night. Imagine your daughter coming home late at night to complete darkness and you'd be concerned too.
On the more expensive end of Provo apartments and nothing to show for it. Parking is extra, and has taken me almost a year to be 90th on the waiting list, even though there are always parking spots available. The walls are not insulated, noise or thermal. The stairs and sidewalks are in constant need of repair, and sprinklers often leak and form big puddles. Impossible to sell your contract for the spring and summer, often will lock you into a year contract and won't let you out. Laundry is expensive, and has small washing machines. Very few redeeming qualities, and only weak positives.
The prices aren't great. No matter what the other reviews say. I promise you there are places that are cheaper, closer to byu, and more up to date and spacious. This place is dark depressing and seriously old.. There is mold in the walls everywhere. You can totally smell it walking in to any room. My roommates and I were constantly getting sick and we discovered all sorts of discussing things throughout the rooms in the vents and in the shower months after living here. One of my roommates has had the flu, 3 colds, and currently lost his voice most likey due to the apartment conditions since he spends 80% of his time here. The pool and hot tub are mildly okay, but everything in the lounge from the tvs to the pool table hardly work and are lacking in parts and pieces to even play proper games right. They spend tons of money on weird activities me and my rommies can never even go to. That may be on us, but it makes us question why we pay such a high rent. The social scene is cool I guess if that's all that matters to you, but there are much much better options out of all the byu housing. If they would update the buildings besides just painting them and do some thorough cleaning before reassigning rooms and contracts I would feel more comfortable living here, but I constantly feel that I'm at a battle of getting ripped off by the managers and having my voice undermined.
The Liberty on Freedom management was incredibly difficult to work with, leasing office hours were ridiculous, repairs took a long time, and responses were always slow. It looks nice on the inside, but the apartments are old (just repainted) and things do not work well. It is outrageously overpriced for a tiny shared room with few amenities in the apartment. I had a terrible experience trying to sell the year round contract, and once I did sell it (for half price) they charged me a $100 fee, plus taking almost $100 out of the security deposit. Look somewhere else before buying here; you could find something a lot better for the same price.
Four of my buddies and I were so excited to move into the “newly renovated and refurbished” apartments together! Little did we know that it was not really renovated or refurbished, but rather a nightmare with the housing. I moved in at the end of August and there was literally so much that they hadn’t done. It just takes them a long time and a huge hassle to get stuff done. Just go somewhere else.
Ambitious project by the new management, and it took awhile for them to catch up with all the requests. They are super helpful and nice; if you go talk to them they will do their best to get it resolved!! Really close to campus which is awesome. Parking kinda sucks but that\'s the same for everywhere in Provo. Overall really great and social!
Here you get what you pay for. The rent is definitely cheaper but it's not the nicest place. The bedroom only has one desk so I brought my own. The beds aren't the most comfortable and there isn't a washer. The staff is good about making sure to fix problems, but it takes a week or so to address the issue. Some of the apartments have been remodeled so they're nicer than others. The nice things include lots of parking if you sign up early enough to get a parking permit (I've never had to go looking for a parking spot), a pool and hot tub, close to BYU campus, and great wards! If you're looking for a cheap place to stay it's a great choice. If you're looking for a nicer place I would pick somewhere else.
