Property Ratings at Lido At Shandin Hills
I’ve been living here for about 4 years and have had multiple break in attempts. The HOA does nothing to protect the people that live here and they randomly shut off the water multiple times a month. A lot of people have their dogs off leashes and they do not pick up their dog poop. Save your money and find a better apartment community.
Property Manager at Lido At Shandin Hills, Responded To This Review
Hello, we are saddened to see that this has been your experience and apologize for your frustrations. Unfortunately, management does not have control over private owners at LIDO and you should reach out to whoever you are renting from to discuss these complaints. In addition, we alert residents in advance any time we are shutting off the water for repairs, except for in emergency cases. However, we do apologize for any inconvenience. In regards to attempted break-ins, you should again discuss this with whoever you are renting from and contact the police if you are the victim of a crime and need to file a police report. We wish you the best.
Went to look at an apartment here place looks very clean and Haley was very helpful, professional and very informative. Look forward to moving in.

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our community and received great service from our staff. Thank you for sharing, we appreciate the 5 stars!
Apartments are subpar, they shut the water off 1/2 times every month like clock work. The washers and dryers are ALWAYS BROKEN. If you have anything broken in your apartment good luck getting front desk to actually answer to schedule maintenance to come. My AC was broken for three weeks before finally being repaired, I called every single day for help. All of these issues only to have rent raised almost every two months. This place needs serious help from a management company, the staff from front desk to maintenance needs to be attentive and reviewed.
Don't let the main office and surrounding area fool you - walk around all the buildings - no grass, trash everywhere, unsupervised kids damaging property & leaving belongings everywhere. I live in a 1 bed/1 bath in the 'condo' side in an upstairs unit. The unit was not painted, nor cleaned before I moved in - there was human hair all over the bathroom, dead roaches in the kitchen, and dirty appliances. Apartment sites list the property as having ceiling fans... It does, there's one in the apartment in the 'dining' area, none in the bedrooms or living room. Not very helpful. No business center either. It is also listed as being a gated community. It IS gated, but the gates are only closed from 7pm - 7am and if anyone shows up when they're closed, they just park in front of the gate until a resident needs to get in and opens the gate. The 'gated community' adds no value to the complex. It also lists the complex as having a private security firm. It does, but management has not authorized them to do anything to residents breaking laws or community rules, other than asking them to stop... In at least every building there is at least one group of individuals that does not seem to work. Instead, they stand in front if the stairs of their building and talk loudly, drink, do drugs, let their infants cry, and listen to music playing from their apartment. This happens all day, every day, and nothing is done by management about it. If security is called, they talk to the group who ignores them. The police have responded to the complex (29 calls from 1/1/16 to 6/16/16). There have been numerous aggravated assaults, burglaries, family assaults, intimidation's, and larcenies. I know there have been more calls that the police never made it out to. You have to pay $25 to have an access card to get into the mail room. There are not stainless steel appliances in the units, only in the model they show you to make you think that's what you'll be getting. The dishwasher leaves a white chalky film on your dishes, and is near impossible to removed once it's baked on. Yes, I even hate the kitchen sink! The faucet is too high and un-movable and the sink is so shallow that when the water is on and hits anything water splashes everywhere.
I have lived at Lido for three months now and I am stuck in a lease. It takes days for maintenance to get done. My a/c has broke down twice since I moved in and each time it took 4 - 5 days for repairs to get done. Since move in I have had a problem with the washer and it is not fixed or even looked at. Now my dishwasher is broken. I wonder how long it will take for that to be fixed. Apartments have been broken into. I live in close proximity to one of the maintenance staff who likes playing loud music often late into the night. I pay a high rent for my apartment and hardly think it is worth it. Definitely ready to break my lease.
I really love the setting its nice when you enter. It makes you feel relaxed and at home.I would love to live here forever
Lido apartments are average. It's a decent place to live I have a one bedroom no major issues it comes with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher. Pretty basic nothing special! What I wasn't previously warned about was that I need to purchase a $25 dollar key to check my mail, use the gym/pool. People in the office never answer the phone and aren't really helpful. But it's a pretty quite area I enjoy for the most part.
Ok so this isn't a total luxury apartment and it does have it's faults. I'll start with the bad: 1) You NEED to be aware of what parking spaces are okay to park in and which ones aren't. If you accidentally park in a reserved spot (some are reserved even if they don't say reserved), there's a 50/50 chance it will get towed by Rock Bottom Towing and you'll have to pay $350 and up to get it back. Very unfair at times. 2) The gym - the weights constantly get stolen and some of the machines aren't up to safety code. I wouldn't recommend going to the Lido gym unless you just want to do the treadmill or other cardio machines. 3) It's near CSUSB so there will be parties every now and again and they could get loud. You can call security and they do quiet down but it's a pain in the neck sometimes. The good: 1) Honestly it's quite peaceful here. The entire time I've lived here, no cars (to my knowledge) have gotten broken into, no break-ins at any apartments, it's gated and seems rather secure. 2) Maintenance is fast an effective. If something goes wrong, they will fix it pretty quickly - unless it's after hours, it may take them longer to send someone out. A pipe burst above us one night and our apartment started raining at 3am for 2 hours before a maintenance person showed up. Not fun, but it got taken care of. 3) If you don't cause any problems i.e. don't be overly noisy, don't break the relatively regular rules, don't do anything bad, you'll be okay really. I enjoyed living here. All in all, it's a nice place and I would recommend it.
