Flanked by the Little Miami River, Milford provides a terrific location -- close enough to Downtown Cincinnati that the 15-mile commute is easily tackled, but far enough away to develop its own identity. Milford has a long history, dating back to 1794 when a Revolutionary War veteran built a log cabin in the area. Long before that, it was the location of a Native American Village. The location of the former village is one of Clermont County's largest historical sites: the Gatch Site, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its 75 acres have yielded some of the region's most important finds, including artifacts, campsites, and burials.
Milford's Main Street offers wide sidewalks, period lighting, historic architecture, and tree-lined streets. Residents can spend the afternoon window-shopping, browsing antiques, or having lunch at one of the cafes.

Property Ratings at Lila Chateau Apartments
BEWARE!! I rented here for over 2 years, paid in full early or on time the entire time, and without warning I got a letter in the door stating they were terminating my lease and I had 30 days to find a place. I called twice and asked what the reason was and was just told "they don't have to have a reason". The only thing it could have possibly been was calling the office to complain about the people above me leaving trash on their deck in the summer heat and the accumulating maggots falling through on my deck, or maybe the calling them about the psychotic drunk that just walked in my apartment to ask why my problem was with him (because he was delusional). He would also beat on the ceiling under my feet when I walked around like I could control him hearing it. He was lucky he wasn't in my unit because it sounded like I was living under a bowling alley at all hours! Outside of those instances I got along great with all the neighbors and they were shocked I was invited to leave. When I moved there the property manager was so nice even though others didn't care for her. The one there now is horrible as well as the owner! They are very nasty and condescending. The place is not worth the price they are asking, there isn't even central air its old wall a/c units. To top it off, they cost me an apartment because they REFUSE to give a rental reference whatsoever, for anyone. I'm not sure why there are not more negative reviews because I have found several other they did this too just on posts on FB. Save yourself and steer clear from this and the other D and P Community properties!
The property management company will find any and every way to not return your security deposit. The apartment was left in spotless condition and yet the security deposit never returned. The quality of service while staying at Lila was subpar, but you get what you pay for.
Finally got a hold of the property manager after weeks of trying on a Friday and scheduled an appointment for Monday to view a 2 bedroom apartment. Monday comes both my GF and I leave work a little early to make it to the 5:30 PM showing. We get to the office and nobody is there. We wait at least 10 minutes outside the office in the heat and call the number on the door and the property manager answers and tells us that there are no rooms available and acted like we were idiots for showing up because some people leased the room over the weekend. I would have expected a phone call at some point letting me know not to show up to the appointment. The lady that is the property manager was super rude to us over the phone. I wouldn't recommend anyone to live here after just shortly dealing with the nightmare that is the property manager. No manager should ever talk to potentioal customers like that. She is inept to do her job.
Was shocked at how rude the office manager was when I asked for a copy of my rent ledger or a tenant reference. I lived here for a year and a half, was a model tenant and paid my rent early every month. I understand that she is not in charge of making these decisions. However, I was flippantly informed me that "no one gets tenant references here." If this is true, be prepared with a backup tenant reference if you are moving and your new landlord requires one as part of the application process. Questionable, loud neighbors. Public park across the street attracts unsavory characters. Dated buildings. No central heat or air. Rude staff, if you can get them to pick up the phone. Maintenance is underqualified and unprofessional. The boiler blew in my floor heater and spewed water all over my unit. Maintenance kindly used my expensive towels to sop up the mess. In addition, instead of clearing me from the apartment to fix the issue (hot water spraying everywhere), I had to remain in the apartment to help them fix the problem to prevent further damage to my things, as maintenance wasn't in any hurry to staunch the leak. Ruined my carpet, couch and towels, and the clothes I was wearing. The contractors they hire to do work outside were even worse. In a separate incident, my patio furniture was damaged by a local power washing "company." Instead of repairing the situation, they gave me the contractor's phone number and essentially wished me good luck. I wasn't able to recover any of my losses and decided it was best to simply move on. I moved to a lovely scenic complex two exits up the highway and have had a much better experience, for a little more money. There is no security system on the external doors, and I once had to call the police to remove a local drunk whom I found sleeping under the stairs in the common stairwell (you cannot make this up). One positive is that the complex is only two blocks away from the police station, so if something does happen, you can likely expect a quicker response time. I'm not sure what others have experienced, but this is what I encountered here. Very seldom do I take the time to write a negative review, but I had a pretty terrible time here. I hope this is helpful to anyone looking for a review from a previous tenant.
Terrible management, no consideration for prospective renters whatsoever, I'd hate to live here if I was treated like this before giving them money.
I was a little unsure about renting here, but this is my second year and I still love it. A lot of residents have lived here a long time, and are kind/respectful neighbors. I have not had any maintenance concerns, and parking is never a problem. I love living across from a park, and being able to walk to dinner too. The newly renovated apt cannot be beat for the price either.
We moved out the end of April, 2016. The apartment was left in "spotless" condition. As of June 15, 2016, we have not received our deposit refund. This is not the only unsatisfactory experience, but it is the biggest.
I am current moving out Lila Chateau apartments and let me tell you, I'm sad to go. I've lived here for the last two years with little or no complaints. If anything were to happen that the complex was responsible for, management would bend over backwards to solve the problem. Sure, no place is perfect. I've had a few bad neighbors in those two years but as long as you ask them to keep the music down and the hallway talk to a minimum, they turn into the most respectful neighbors of them all. Overall, if you are looking for an amazingly price apartment in Milford without the cons of "cheap" living, Lila Chateau apartments offer a safe, well maintained place to live.
The apartments have lots of storage the pool is great with a beautiful park right across the street. The management is wonderful to work with and really cares about the residents. It's a quiet community. Love it here!
