Property Ratings at Linden at North Shores
In the time that I’ve lived here the property has changed management companies three times and each one makes some nonsensical change. There have been promises of renovations that would improve quality of life (gym/clubhouse) but when they built a “clubhouse” they just moved the leasing office into it. They’ll leave notice of entry on your door on a Friday (when people are most likely to be out of town), with no way to contact them, for an entry on a Monday. “Call if you have any questions!” How??? How are we supposed to get in touch? Why a paper flyer and not an email? Little events and stuff are done each month, like free donuts or school supplies, those are nice. But it’s hard to convince your residents you care when your office workers are rude and act like they’d rather be anywhere else than helping you. There’s just a lot of simple things that could be done to make this place better that just isn’t being done. I can’t say I’ve hated my time here, but it would be untruthful to say I haven’t noticed a decline in quality.
I moved here from Seattle, Washington and was looking to move in quickly since we drove across the country. Though the apartment was old and not in the best shape we decided to give it a chance. Since January of 2024 the management changed but did not improve. My biggest and ongoing concern is the infestation of roaches. Secondary to that is the mold in the bathroom and water heater closet. Phone calls go unanswered and emails are not replied to. I am sick of living in an apartment with roaches crawling everywhere I turn. It’s to the point I have all my food products and dishes in storage bins. I feel disgusting and no one should be allowed to live in an unsafe space. I would not recommend anyone to live in any of these apartment units.
1. Roaches 2. Leaky ceilings 3. Gray black/water from all taps. 4. The office phone will send you to voice mail and they do not listen to them. 5. Dog attacks in the neighborhood due to unleashed dogs with one casualty.
I’m currently living here and it’s disgusted infested with roaches really bad. They got new management however, new management increased utilities without anyone knowledge so we all got letters on our door for the confusion. It’s ONLY one person who works in the office & she disgusting. (Sheryl) They raise rent and send out late fee when rent is not paid on time but can’t fix the infestation problem in a timely manner. They told me they can’t afford to bomb all units in my build at once. The community looks a mess, there’s suppose to have dog restrictions however there is 2 giant dogs that live in my building and I seen numerous around the community. I signed a renewal for this year dec2022 before Christmas because it’s the only place I can afford, I have yet to receive my new lease & it’s Jan 13,2023 . This place sucks!
We moved in a little over a month ago. Our washing machine has not worked since we’ve moved in. I have called several times and get a different story each time. Now we have water coming up in our sink every time the upstairs neighbors run their washer or dishwasher. I was told a work order would be put in and now I’m wondering how long it’s going to take.
Maintenance takes months for non essential fixes. They charge $45 extra a month for “Utility Charge” but the dumpster pick up on the weekends doesn’t happen so by Saturday afternoon there is trash in the street and grass around the dumpster until the truck finally shows up sometime Monday afternoon to empty. In the details it also states parking for two cars only and that’s a lie. Many have 3 and 4 cars and leave them in spots undriven for days and weeks. If you are disabled and come home later than 5 you will have to park far away from your unit as the parking is on a “first come, first serve” basis. The Management only cares about collecting the rent, not about the tenants or the properties condition or appeal. Look elsewhere to spend your hard earned dollars. You can do far better for same or just a little more.
Have lot of roaches and mouse. Maintenance takes months to repair anything. Contract was signed for drug free but neighbors smoke weed and leasing office dismissed it.
Where to start. Shared air vent with people upstair so I can smell them smoking mj but staff DISMISSED IT as something else. Maintenance takes so long to fix something. Parking sucks. Roaches and mouse looked behind stove huge hole seems like construction got lazy and didn't want to finish.
DO NOT LIVE HERE RUN! This place is horrible its infested with bugs not just roaches but bed bugs yes bed bugs. Work orders never get done or if they do come it does get fixed right your better off fixing it your self. I moved in almost 8 months ago and my 5 day still hasn't been taken care of so RUN.
We lived here for a year before leaving the state. Positives: The staff was friendly and maintenance was prompt. My kids enjoyed the playground and lots of other kids to play with. Parking was never an issue. We always felt safe because these are mostly families and military. Grounds stayed mostly clean. Negatives: The day we moved in, we found a roach....and then saw roaches almost every day after. The exterminator said they're hard to get rid of because they just move from one apartment to another after he sprays. Yikes!!! I hated living there because of that, but eventually they were gone. Long-time tenants said some units have them, some don't so I guess you'd be taking your chances and just call maintenance if you ever see one. I also hated that my neighbors smoked cigarettes right outside the shared entrance and smoked weed in their apartment. It all drifted right into my place and I had a newborn inhaling all that garbage. So Windows were constantly open and plug in air fresheners were all over the apartment to keep all the smells out. All in all, I was happy NOT to renew my lease.
Property Manager at Linden at North Shores, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your review of our apartment complex. We appreciate your kind comments on the positivity of our residents and the community. In regards to the roaches, we do offer free pest control every week in order to deal with any pest issues you may have. Besides that, making sure that your apartment stays clean is key to keeping the pests away. In regards to the weed and cigarette smell, we are a DRUG FREE community and we do adhere to that policy. However, if it is not reported to us then we cannot handle the situation as we do not go searching resident apartments for banned substances such as weed. We do however allow smoking in our complex but it is not to be done in the shared entrances. That also is something that could have very easily been handled by the office if you would have let us know. I apologize for the issues you had whilst staying at our community. I hope you would still refer us to other families in the future.
This is a great size apartment with great amenities for the price. However there are two many "required" maintenance visits with no option of rescheduling. There are no chain locks so maintenance team will let themselves in without permission as well even if you are at home sleeping. Complained to office and nothing was done about it because notice was given of a 2 day window of potential entry.
This apartment is everything you need if you are single or have a very smal family. I really don't like the area but as I stated before, if you are single it's great for you!
