Property Ratings at Link Apartments® Manchester
I lived in this apartment building for four years. I moved during Covid so limited selection in Richmond. Let me just tell you this apartment was terrible and I only stayed because I did not want to move with my job as a resident. My apartment building the moment I started living there the refrigerator was broken. I lost so much money because despite asking them to replace it multiple times they just gave me broken refrigerators again and again. I just kept the last one with the fear that another would be worse. I lost a lot of money with the fridge and my milk would spoil in 3 days. The freezer functioned as a fridge and food would even spoil in there. Only one of the four stove tops worked from when I moved in. My mom tried every one putting her hands on it and the tops didn’t get warm. I had a broken AC unit for a year and half with no one coming to fix it. It was leaking so much water that I had to put a bucket and would have to dump it daily. Maintenance would move the bucket and at one point left the exposed wire. I was told it would get replaced. It leaked into my water heater and my electricity went out. When I finally told them to fix it before I left, the maintenance guy laughed and said oh yeah we didn’t fix this for a long time. I could not trust maintenance to come into my apartment because they would go through my fridge and report me for having too much in my freezer when I asked them to change a light bulb. Overall a huge distrust to the system. I am a resident and they cited me for being too dirty because I had left dishes on the counter. I had to have management come with the maintenance worker who went through my fridge without permission. She basically was super rude to me and told me that they don’t care and I’m at fault for saying bad things about maintenance worker. Every time I called the leasing office the secretary would say she would find out answers and never would. I would email them and they would answer my questions then go back about what they said. The leasing office went I originally moved in was nice and polite but they have been nothing but rude. I over paid my last months rent and they told me they would not give me the money back. I would never ever live in this building again. No decency to treating their tenants with respect. Maintenance workers should not be going through your personal items. If he went through my fridge then what else did he go through. I asked him to replace a bulb and he never even did that.

I previously enjoyed living here at Link Apartments Manchester for the first 2 1/2 years but the past year and a half has been A LIVING NIGHTMARE!!! The neighbors above me are constantly loud all throughout the day starting from 6 AM as late as 1 AM and it is seriously enraging. I have complained about this to management multiple times, submitted audio recordings, and they have literally done nothing! I have tried to talk with the neighbors directly but they refused to answer the door and had to leave letters as well as my cell phone number so that we can discuss this issue. Nothing has seem to be working and unfortunately I am forced to move out of an apartment that I absolutely loved. I felt that it would be my due diligence to warn anyone who is coming to be aware of living here as you will be dealing with some incredibly loud and inconsiderate neighbors. Don't say I didn't warn you. On the other hand maintenance is wonderful and that’s about it.

Danielle, We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed loved your apartment overall and the maintenance staff was wonderful. We are truly sorry to learn that your neighbors ignored your attempts to remedy the noise transfer and wish we would have known the noise was still occurring after our attempts to rectify the situation. Please reach out to our office at 804-232-0849 if there is anything else we can do for you. Thank you.
Living at Link Apartments definitely had its perks and its downfalls. I was sold on the adequate space, nice floors and appliances, large bedroom and large closet. Included garage parking was another great perk. Internet is also included in rent, but it is rather slow and very difficult to stream anything. Noise from neighbors is about what you would expect in any apartment, and I was fortunate to live around people who kept their noise to a reasonable level. Street noise from the neighboring apartment building can be an issue if you live on that side of the building though. Some residents at Link let their animals urinate in the elevators, and do not clean up after them. Many days the elevators smell like stale pet urine. Location wise: I enjoyed being close to downtown and you can easily walk to the river. I did not like that Manchester does not have a grocery store or many decent food options, so that was rather inconvenient. But there is a brewery, pizza place, and Subway all within walking distance. The office staff (Shayla) and maintenance are always pleasant and kind, and maintenance is very quick to respond to work orders. Overall, I found Link to be a reasonably priced city apartment with enjoyable features and amenities.
My building is literally like a 5 star hotel experience. Management was very friendly and always helpful when i needed them. The building was spotless they kept up with the maintainence of the building and i couldnt ask for anything better . My neighbors are very friendly and there are a few police officers who live here so you always feel safe and secure. I love my apartment and think its a beautiful place to reside.
The good: Friendly staff. Close to downtown. Nice neighborhood. Standard amenities. Safe. Garage parking. Spacious compared to other properties in the area. The bad: Rent should be less. I've been towed too many times bc my decal wasn't showing, which is annoying. $125 each time. They needed more parking. My air conditioner has been broken or pulling too much energy for the past two years. Last energy bill was over $300 for a 1bd. Avg is $100 and I rarely turn on the AC. Internet SUCKS!! So many ppl buy their own internet. You can hear everything that goes on by the pool if you're facing it. I've been awakened in the night on a few occasions bc ppl were laughing by the pool and their voices carried. They don't even have to be very loud. It just carries bc the building structure echoes voices like an amphitheater. There should be a call box on the front lobby door for convenience. The box we have is all the way on 9th street. Hard to explain where that is to guests. Other than that, it's cool.

I've been living at Link for the past year, and recently signed another lease with them. My experience with these apartments has been really great thus far. It's a relatively new complex (only been around a few years I believe) located right across the 9th Street Bridge (if you know where the SunTrust Riverview Building is, you've found the complex), where there are a lot of new apartments coming up. Got a great deal during the summer of my move. The unit I lived in was basically new - came with granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances. I've had no problems with my unit; my only gripe is that sometimes the trash chute will not open, which is likely from tenants from other floors not making sure that the door on their floor is completely closed (the doors to the chute on other floors won't open otherwise). One other nitpick - the apartment windows don't have screens on them, so if you are cooking and pop a window open, you MAY have some winged visitors from the outside, if you're the type that is bothered by that sort of thing. I typically keep mine closed, and I've never seen a bug in my unit otherwise. As far as amenities go, everything is pretty much covered. Pool with grill area, fitness room, lobby, covered parking (note: only one spot comes with a unit, you have to pay if you want a second) - there's nothing really lacking in that department. The staff is great as well. Any work orders I've submitted have been completed promptly (1-2 days depending on when the order is placed), and the ladies in the management office are down-to-earth and friendly. All in all, this is a great complex with really good staff. I'm giving five stars for MY experience (note the "MY"). There are some small details that may warrant four stars (I think the biggest for some people is that the once-present skyline view from the north side of the building is now blocked by a newer, "super luxury" apartment complex) for some, but if the price is right, it really balances out. Here's to hoping the second year is as good as the first!
the staff overall is nice with the exception of Robin. She was and has been very rude to me.
At the time of writing I have lived in Link Manchester Apartments for roughly 3 months. The staff is laid-back, but professional when it comes to customer service. Everyone is friendly and the apartments are first-class. I am a bit disappointed about the location, but that can't be helped. It is otherwise very convenient to downtown Richmond and I-95. Parking is FREE and secured. There are a lot of great amenities and the floor plans are top notch. My only real qualm is the price. I moved in at a promotional rate, and while I love the apartments, I will have to think hard about renewing my lease because it is a little expensive. That said, you cannot go wrong with Link Manchester Apartments. No bugs, brand-new establishment, no foul odors, and overall a well maintained complex. Great for VCU students (I am a student myself), as it is located right between the two campuses. Give it a shot!
I just moved here from the noisy VCU area. I could not be happier! The staff is extremely nice and very attentive to the tenants concerns. I am so happy with the layout, cleanliness, security, and my rooms. I finally found a place worth moving to. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone who sincerely care about quality living.
