Property Ratings at Lisle Station Apartments
I lived here in 2020-2021 but my aunt lived here for 5+ years. I helped her move into here. When I moved in Ashley and Julie were and still are super helpful. I loved how personal Ashley and Julie were. Didn't ever feel like landlord and tenant felt like family. Every time I stopped at office Ashely and Julie took time to ask how I was doing and my family. They knew me and my family by our names and we sit and talk. Again, I loved it here. Yes, the kitchen was small, but the office staff made up for it so much to the point I am hopefully moving back in. It meant alot every time Ashely or Julie saw me even if just walking past always a warm smile and wave. When I moved to a new complex in Arlington Heights I did not feel the same way and the office staff was nowhere near as friendly Lisle Station. Thats why I am moving back. Was my first apartment and Crystal and Ashley and Julie made the whole thing easy and nice. If you are looking for you first apartment this is great.
Lived here for 1 year 2019-2020 in a freshly remodeled unit. Real quiet place, had no issues come up, quick responses to emails, pool is maintained, snow removal is ahead of the game, walking distance to downtown Lisle. Got full deposit back. Julie is real nice, made the whole process smooth. Only con is the guest parking, would be perfect if there was unlimited overnights on weekends.
Property Manager at Lisle Station Apartments, Responded To This Review
We appreciate you taking the time to rate us five stars! Our mission is to exceed expectations, and we are pleased you are benefitting from this priority. We are also pleased to here you are happy with our updated units we have available on site. We pride ourselves in this quiet, private area. One of our many features is the close distance to the downtown area! Which includes a train station that rides to Naperville and even Downtown Chicago. Another amenity we provide is the pool, which we are looking forward to the pool re-opening this summer. Unfortunately, guest parking is limited to ensure enough parking for residents, but we are working on a better solution in 2021. Thank you for your feedback.
I wouldn't recommend moving here because they have changed policies mid lease twice I've lived here (2 years). I was originally told it was 12 month leases only so I waited to move in because I knew I would need to move by an exact date. When it was time for my lease renewal I was told that the policy has changed and they now offer you leases bases on the term length they want and the price will be higher if you choose a lease term they don't want you take. I had to fight to get them to give a 12 month lease again or else I would have a lease that ended a month before graduation or one that extended 3 months after. There are fees that are not in the lease, I was told about a mandatory $53 cleaning fee when I move out unless I showed proof of professional cleaning. In the lease it just says I have to clean my apartment thoroughly prior to moving out, there is nothing about a professional service. There is dog poop all over outside and bugs (stink bugs, spiders, and some spiny caterpillar thing) are a constant site. When I told them about my bug problem I was told that this should have been expected since we live by the creek. I have had packages stolen from the mailroom (the office will accept packages but anyone can come in, look through them and take whatever), a lot of people leave the security door propped open, my apartment door was left unlocked after maintenance entered one day. I came back from a long vacation to find the new patio door that was installed was left unlocked and the light in my bedroom was left one as well.
I would give ZERO STARS if I could. They raised the rent $120 PER MONTH this year, even though they do nothing to replace or upgrade anything. Everything is original from over 50 years ago and falling apart. They just slap some more glue on and hope it sticks. Now they are charging $5 for any extra vehicle parked in the lot per day or have vehicle towed if you don’t call in advance! So don’t try and have friends stop by or risk getting towed. Misleading everybody to believe there is a parking issue when there isn't. It is just so they can make more $$$$$$$. Staff uncaring.
The air conditioning/heating is old and inefficient. There are some other minor annoyances, like generally run-down and old items. But it's the smoking that is the worst. The balconies are sooooo close together. You will smell it in your apartment and not be able to open a door or window. And it's hard to get privacy and enjoy being outside.
Just signed my third year lease! The apartment is great - clean and perfect size. Maintenance team is courteous, friendly and professional. Secluded surroundings with many trees and creek flowing by. 5 minute walk to train. Ample parking. The property managers are professional, knowledgeable and respond to inquiries immediately. Convenient to shopping and highways. Can't say enough about the place and the people. Extremely happy that I found this place!
I lived at Lisle station for 2 years and there were positives and negatives. The parking availability was great, and I never heard my neighbors through the walls. I was interested to see that another reviewer mentioned the AC/heating unit. My heating and cooling costs were through the roof (more than I pay for my current 3 bedroom HOUSE), and my unit DID grow mold. I had to leave the apartment and have it mitigated. The management acted like it was no big deal, but when you walk into your apartment and can smell the mold, and then look in your unit and the inside is COVERED in mold... that's not good.
Recently I bought my first home. I found a great home in my price range, but leaving Lisle Station has been a nightmare! At first I was told that as long as I give a 60 day notice that I would be moving out, I would not be penalized. Now, I'm being told that in order to even give my 60 day notice I need to pay almost $2,000 upfront in a cashier's check. I shouldn't have to pay ANYTHING to give a notice that I'm moving. I'm addition to the $2,000 upfront, I am now stuck paying an additional 2 months rent, bringing the total cost to around $4,000. Now, how the heck am I expected to pay them thisuch when I just spent most of my savings on a down payment?! This should be criminal. I would not recommend livig here if you are ever planning on moving into a house. They will rob you, and worst of all, they don't even care.
This apartment is very cozy. There are a few cute features ion the grounds. I enjoy the scenery a little creek actually runs though the complex. Although I wish there was more space closet& kitchen space.
Quality size for your money. Building is not new and some apartments have older appliances but the location to the Metra stop you can not beat working downtown.
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. In the bedroom we have enough space to fit a queen size bed, a dresser, two night stands and a overstuff chair and still plenty of space to walk. Even do some yoga, if you're into that! The living room is very spacious as well, the dining room is big enough for a 4 person table. The only downside is the kitchen, there isn't a lot of counter space. During the winter I had to buy a portable heater for the bedroom to make it a little bit warmer, but then again I'm a Caribbean girl. Not used to Chicago's cold weather.. Nevertheless, this apartment complex definitely offers great amenities for a great price: 7mins walk to the train station, 3mins drive to I-88 and I-355, close to different grocery stores (Jewel Osco, Walmart, Standard Market), no parking fees, and much more!
This is a great place to live. We've been here one year and have little to complain about. The two managers (Kim(s)) are wonderful, repairs are done quick, and the property is wonderful. If you work downtown or just enjoy going downtown this is a great place to live. The station is about a five minute or less walk away. The grounds are fantastic. It's like you're living out in the woods or a secluded getaway, but you're a short walk or drive away from anything you need or want to do for entertainment. The apartments are nice too. The only downside or complaints to living here is they are only one bed room apartments, four speed bumps, and there is no dishwasher. The no dishwasher might be a deal breaker for some. If you're a retired family, single, or young couple this is a great place to live.
