Having been built up around Miami University, the small city of Oxford is the epitome of a college town. With around 24,000 students compared to the city’s 21,000 permanent residents, the university serves as the cultural hub for the entire community: annual events like Oxford Wine Festival, recurring series like the Summer Music Festival, and the vibrant dining and nightlife scene downtown all thrive on the support of the college crowd while also providing a huge range of leisure options for students and non-students alike.
The rental market is quite diverse, with affordable options ranging from efficiency apartments just a block or two from campus, to single-family homes at the edge of town, allowing you to find the perfect living arrangements to fit your lifestyle.

Property Ratings at Oxford West
poorly managed houses with old equipment with unresponsive maintenance staff
I love seeing Polly and Jessie(Jesi?) In the office, I can honestly say they brighten my day and they make my dog feel super special everytime she comes in. I had a great experience with the staff and maintenance when I needed them. I appreciate you guys!
I really do enjoy my apartment. The size is good, we like the furniture that is included in furnished apartments. BUT - they absolutely do not care about the property. There is trash all around the ground outside (mainly because they do not pay to have dumpsters picked up often enough for the amount of trash residents have) and the parking lots are full of HUGE potholes. I shouldn't have to weave around and risk my car just to get home. Definitely okay, but they need to care more.
Lived here two years. Moved in and it was disgusting. Toilets had nasty poop stains. Hair was still in sink and shower and bathroom smelled of urine. Carpets had stains everywhere (which they tried to charge me for when I moved out, even though I documented it upon move-in) Neighbor smoked marijuana and could smell every night through vent system. Complained and was never fixed. Probably lost half my brain cells from second hand pot smoke. Refrigerator leaked to the point kitchen had huge puddles literally every day. Put in maintenance request first week and after two years it was never resolved. Dishwasher was non functional. Same results as with refrigerator. A/C broke two summers and both times had to endure summer with no air conditioning. Maintenance fixed it in July and Scoot the head maintenance guy said they were waiting to see if I would renew my lease before they invested in fixing it. Toilets clogged at least twice a month and could not flush until maintenance showed up, which could be same day or a few days, but once took ten days to come and fix both toilets that would not flush! Had to use neighbors house to go to bathroom. Avoid Oxford West at all costs!!!!
I wish I could give this no stars, but I had to give it one. When I arrived, they did not have anything prepared and stated that I wasn't moving in that day. After proving to them I was with a confirmation email, they took me to the apartment that was completely trashed and still contained the previous tenant's furniture and garbage. After living there for a month my apartment backed up with RAW SEWAGE and they did not take the issue seriously. They would not replace the sewage soiled carpet until I threatened to move out. Additionally all of the appliances continue to break and NOT get repaired properly. I did not have a dishwasher for 2 months and have not had a working dyer for the 4 months I have lived here. When I put in a work request it takes over a month for the issue to be addressed and their solution to the problem usually is not the correct solution. For example, when I told them my dryer didn't work (internal wiring problem) they came by and left a note stating that they fixed it by emptying the drier lint (which was already empty). Each of the solutions that they come up with for various broken things in the apartment are repaired with incorrect pieces, repaired incorrectly, or not repaired at all. Rent is incredibly over priced and the apartment is not worth it at all. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
Terrible service. Went in and asked to take a tour and was looked at like I was crazy. No one seemed to care at first and they almost did not give me one and had to scramble to figure out how. Then once we went on the tour the employee got lost on their property and made us walk around the backs of building through the rain and mud having to avoid stepping in dog crap. Did not know prices or basic info about the units. Brochure that was given to me had company logos and info whited out as well. Extremely unprofessional place.
Miami Comns is a beautiful place. Nice garden and apartments. The workers are friendly and provide good service. The thing surprised me most is that each area has a dog trash collection and trash bag provide. Thats really convinence for those people who has dog, such as me.
We have lived at Oxford West for more than a year and have nothing but good things to say about it. The rent is affordable and the staff have always been friendly and quick to help us out with any problem that has come up. This area is a little bit further from campus, but it's also away from the noise and the action of Uptown. There are several locations where the college bus system can pick you up and take you into school. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone who is looking to be secluded from campus but still close to all the basic necessities.
There are a lot of other complex in the area where you'll get your money's worth. The property is loud and no privacy due to buildings being so close together. They recently went to new management as well that seems to have no care for their residents. Watch out for the really high rent, hidden fees and the office taking your deposit for bogus reasons. They do have a lot of laundry facilities and pet friendly.
