While there are not any museums directly in the vicinity of the neighborhood, there are a few nearby that are worth mentioning. Just south of the neighborhood, you will find the Ohio History Connection, a museum focused on honoring local history. Exhibits range from past to present events relevant to the state of Ohio.

A little bit further away you fill find the Wexner Center for the Arts. Exhibitions highlight an assortment of works from international contemporary artists.

If you head a few miles west of Arlington Park, you will find the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The facility hosts Winterfair each December, a gathering of art and craft vendors from all over the region. Attracting over 20,000 visitors, it is one of the largest events of its kind in the area.

While no restaurants or bars are located in the neighborhood there are plenty of options in the surrounding areas. You will find nearby restaurants in almost every cuisine style that you desire. If you are an adventurous diner who enjoys ethnic cuisine, head just outside of the neighborhood to Ena's Caribbean Kitchen. This local favorite specializes in Caribbean specialties like jerk chicken, oxtail and curried goat. With a menu of authentic dishes and excellent customer service, Ena's is a must-try.

For some perfectly done fried chicken and fish head over to Fish and Chicken Inn. Enjoy one of their fried chicken or fish meals with sides such as collard greens, yams, and fried okra. Don't want to wait in line? Call ahead for quick and easy pick up.

The meat lovers venture over to the University District of Columbus and Ray Ray's Hog Pit for some of the best barbecue in Columbus. Serving brisket, pulled pork and baby back ribs, this restaurant covers all of the bases. Add on southern inspired sides like collard greens and mac and cheese, and enjoy a meal that you won't soon forget.

There are plenty of nearby options to keep residents entertained once the sun sets. Blending beer and movies, Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse is a place worth checking out. While it only has one screen, the theater switches up the attractions by rotating film favorites, sporting events and popular television shows.

For a more upbeat night life option, head a little bit further into the University District to Brothers Drake Meadery. The establishment produces its own selection of wines made from local wildflower honey. For guests who want something a little bit stronger, Brothers Drake also serves a full cocktail menu full of creative mixed drink choices. On Fridays and Saturdays, the bar serves as a musical venue for some of Columbus' best local artists.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority services the area by providing quite a few bus routes within the neighborhood. Residents can take advantage of this affordable public transportation option to commute to downtown, surrounding communities and nearby establishments.

Sitting several miles northeast of downtown, Arlington Park is not a place that you will see cabs driving around. However, there are several cab companies that will provide transportation services with prior arrangements. Uber's service area extends to this neighborhood as well.

Unfortunately, the lack of bike lanes means that few people cycle, and rarely do residents walk. However, with I-71 and OH-62 nearby, getting around by car is easy.

Arlington Park has prime access to some of the area's best parks and outdoor facilities. Just north of the neighborhood you will find the largest park in northeast Columbus. Boasting almost 100 acres, Innis Park has everything to offer in the category of outdoor entertainment. Visitors can take advantage of baseball diamonds, athletic fields, picnic shelters, walking trails, playgrounds and a wildlife area.

The Ohio State Fairgrounds, located just down the road from the neighborhood, hosts one of the most exciting annual events in the state, each summer. Families come from all over to visit the Ohio State Fair, and experience all that it has to offer. One of the largest state fairs in the United States, it provides rides, fair food, shows and livestock exhibits. Make sure you don't miss this thriving local event.

This includes the cost of gas, which runs around a percent lower than the national average, and the cost of public transport, which runs around $2 to get to the city. When meeting friends out for a drink, residents expect to pay around $5 for a beer.

With no shopping in the neighborhood, Arlington Park residents must head towards downtown to find shops, boutiques and groceries. Not far from the neighborhood sits the Short North shopping district, a large collection of stores of every kind. Here, you will find almost anything you desire. Labeled the art district, the shopping district is composed mainly of independently owned boutiques and shops. Glean specializes in handmade local goods for the home and body. Rowe Boutique carries a great collection of apparel and accessories in designer brands.

Another local shopping destination is Easton Town Center which is just northeast of the neighborhood. Here you can expect more traditional and recognizable businesses. Popular brands include Eddie Bauer, Nordstrom, Tiffany and Co., Abercrombie and Fitch and Crate and Barrel.

Neighborhood residents have grocery store options to meet every need. A popular option, Trader Joe's, sits just a few miles north of the neighborhood. Shoppers on a budget tend to head to Save-A-Lot and ALDI Foods to do their shopping. If you prefer a local grocer, head over to Weiland's Market by the University District. This specialty grocery store offers a great selection of produce, meats and baked goods made in house.

From the end of April to end of November, residents can head to the nearby Clintonville Farmers Market to browse the offerings of over 60 local vendors.
