Located about four miles southwest of Downtown Riverside, Arlington is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. The historic neighborhood blends the old and new with its small-town charm and modern amenities. Renters can choose from Mid-Century and newly built apartments and condos, along with Mediterranean-style houses. Arlington is laden with locally owned restaurants, specialty shops, medical facilities, and more. For even more options, Galleria at Tyler, a large mall with 180-plus stores and eateries, is located directly west of the neighborhood. When locals aren’t enjoying Arlington’s abundant amenities, you’ll find them going to one of the neighborhood parks or venturing out to California Citrus State Historic Park, a sprawling park with citrus and avocado groves.

The atmosphere of my area is generally calm. I would choose to live here again if I could because I enjoy the tranquility. In comparison to the Los Angeles and Boston areas, I would rate this as better than both.

The crime is typical of most areas. It is very moderate. It's not as bad as Los Angeles but not as good as Irvine. Gangs are around but not very active. Police are visible, but as in every minority area, they respond slowly.
