This neighborhood is known for being a low-income area, which shows through the public areas being run down. Some areas have renovated parks and affordable housing, but that does not change the fact that the place is crime-ridden and of low overall quality. For commuting, you'll have to walk over ten minutes in upper Brownsville and the stations nearby are not renovated or cleaned. The most you'll see is a paint job. Lastly, because of the crime, it is advised not to commute or be out in the area at night.

It's a great neighborhood to live in due to its location and accessibility to public transportation. However, it isn't very safe depending on which part you choose to live in.

There are many crimes that are committed and you can hear police sirens over night. But once you don't bother anyone they probably won't bother you. There is also plenty of food, laundromats, and stores in the area.

Brownsville is my home, as everyone can tell Brownsville is not the safest but it is full of culture and memories.
