Burgaw is best known for being home to the North Carolina Blueberry Festival. Burgaw is a part of Pender County which ranks second for blueberry production in the state. This celebration brings in over 30,000 people from across the Tar Heel State to honor the significance of blueberries in the region through recipe contests, a bike race, a car show, and more. Burgaw loves blueberries so much that they also host the New Year’s Eve Blueberry Drop, one of the other unique events the town hosts every year.
Burgaw is bursting with charm but is also in a great location. Interstate 40, NC Highway 53, and US Highway 117 run through town giving quick access to travel. Burgaw is also only 25 minutes west of Wilmington’s International Airport and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
