Depending upon which are you are living in, it can be very safe or very scary to even walk outside during the day. Police are seen around the streets, but only prioritize the calls that made to them.

We have a very high crime rate, one of the highest in the nation. Walking around at night is simply not an option, especially in bad areas. I haven't personally had much experience from the police in this area, but I've heard both good and bad things about their reliability.

While you can find plenty of fun activities to do around the city, the crime rate and certain bad areas make you feel unsafe.
