Formerly known as Del Rey Woods, Del Rey Oaks is a small town in Monterey County near Seaside and Sand City, located off the coast of Monterey Bay. Del Rey Oaks sits directly north of Monterey Regional Airport and is adjacent to Laguna Grande Regional Park. But residents don’t have to leave town to enjoy the great outdoors. Del Rey Oaks is home to a few nature preserves and neighborhood parks of its own. The remainder of the city is residential, with charming, upscale single-family homes sitting along tree-lined streets. Although Del Rey Oaks isn’t directly on the coast, it’s just a few miles off shore and offers proximity to Monterey State Beach, Del Monte Beach, and Fort Ord Dunes State Park. Local markets, restaurants, public schools, churches, and retailers surround Del Rey Oaks, so residents have all of the conveniences they need at their fingertips.
