The first settlers in the Delhi Hills area arrived in 1788, but the real surge in growth came in 1817 when the Ohio legislature passed a bill that named the area Del High, which explains today's pronunciation. Farms grew up in Delhi Township along with over 60 greenhouses, helping to earn the area the designation of "The Floral Paradise of Ohio".

Explore the rich history of the area at the Delhi Historical Society located at the Farmhouse Museum. The museum houses changing exhibits and a family research library. Check the website before you visit as the museum closes in winter months.

The Delhi Skirt Game, a Chicago-style softball game, is a competition between the township's fire and police departments with male participants playing in drag. Played the first Friday in August at Delhi Park, this game also features live music, games, concessions and fireworks.

Bordered on the north by Delhi Pike, which offers a variety of fast food and chain restaurants, Delhi Hills proper houses few restaurants but a local chain, Wild Mike's, serves as a local favorite. This sports bar specializes in wings, and regulars rave about its chunky blue cheese dressing and the local beers available on tap. Dine in at this lively spot, or use the carry-out option if you want your meal to go.

For a great buffet, stop in at The Farm on Anderson Ferry Rd. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays only, The Farm serves hearty fare such as fried chicken and homemade meatloaf served buffet style. In business for over 50 years, this well-known eatery often caters local wedding receptions and large parties.

The Incline Public House in nearby Price Hill features wonderful food, a large beer selection and outstanding skyline views. Laid back and less pricey than other gastropubs in the city, the Incline changes its menu seasonally and brings an inventive twist to old favorites such as short-rib grilled cheese and Creole sliders. In warmer weather, opt for a table on the large patio if you have time to wait.

The easy access into downtown Cincinnati from Delhi Hills opens a wide range of entertainment possibilities, including bars, restaurants, nightclubs and comedy clubs.

Due to its small size and mainly residential demographic, walking from place to place in Delhi Hills proves a rewarding pursuit. However, most residents opt to drive as nearby conveniences lie scattered on busy thoroughfares such as Delhi Pike and Glenway Avenue.

Cabs should be arranged ahead of time, and Uber ride sharing provides another excellent option for residents who don't want to drive themselves. Using Uber, a trip to nearby Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport costs just $17 and a ride into downtown Cincinnati costs only $14. The businesses located in this family-friendly area have ample parking and the residential streets provide excellent terrain for casual biking.

A short five-minute ride to the east allows drivers access to Interstates 75 and 71, the north and south thoroughfares that intersect the city and link to the 275 beltway.

Get closer to nature at Embshoff Woods just east of Delhi Hills in Delhi Township. This enticing park draws visitors to its nine-hole disc golf course, playgrounds, a one-mile fitness trail and a covered shelter available by reservation. This park welcomes dogs, but they must remain on a leash.

Right above the river, Delshire Reserve provides nature lovers with an excellent spot for hiking and wildlife observation. Over 13 acres lie open for exploration, including hilly terrain and multiple creeks. Deer are a common sight and bluebells cover the eastern slope each spring.

West Fest in nearby Cheviot serves as the largest street festival on Cincinnati's west side. Generally held in late June on a Saturday and Sunday, this street fest boasts live music on several stages, local food vendors, beer gardens and a car show. This family-friendly festival also features a special kid zone to entertain the young ones as well as a craft tent.

Stop in at the Fig Leaf for personal items, clothing, and gifts, or visit Castle House for a huge selection of kids clothing, outerwear, and shoes. Another easy 20-minute ride south of Delhi Hills across the Ohio river in Kentucky takes you to Crestview Hills Town Center, an outdoor mall full of stores such as Chico's, Eddie Bower, Dress Barn, Kirkland's, Loft, and Dillard's as well as spas, salons, and restaurants.

Remke Market and Aldi reside within the Delhi Hills limits, while a nearby Kroger on Delhi Pike provides shoppers with a third alternative for groceries. Findlay Market in the Over the Rhine section of Cincinnati features a large year-round farmer's market. Complete with an indoor market and outdoor stands April through October, this huge farmer's market feels more like a small village, with vendors and small stores selling local produce, flowers, meats, cheeses, crafts, and more. Make a morning of it here with coffee and pastries from a bakery, or just stroll through the market and take in the sights.
