Dent and the surrounding neighborhoods of Green Township trace their roots to hunters and farmers who settled in the area at the turn of the 19th Century. By 1920, nearly 900 farms existed in Green Township. As urbanization brought cars and highways to Cincinnati, many people from central neighborhoods began to move to more outer suburbs like Dent. Today, the neighborhood has evolved into a modern suburban community.

The neighborhood does not include any museums, but Green Township Historical Association does host monthly meetings and educational events at Nathanial Green Lodge on Wesselman Road. Dent Schoolhouse, an annual Halloween tradition, attracts visitors from all over the greater Cincinnati area. This haunted house attraction thrills guests of all ages with traditional tours along with a behind-the-scenes "lights on" option.

Dent's restaurant scene consists mostly of chain and fast food restaurants, but locals enjoy access to a few local gems in the surrounding area. Just down the road from Dent, locals enjoy Zip Dip, a classic walk-up ice cream store. Sample a variety of soft-serve ice cream or yogurt flavors, and be sure to give the homemade waffle cones a try. The shop also offers low-fat and sugar-free ice cream options along with milkshakes and sundaes.

Guido's Restaurant & Pizzeria in nearby Miamitown boasts no-frills American and Italian fare that's sure to please the whole family. For breakfast, be sure to try a goetta and cheese omelet. Dinner-goers enjoy a variety of specialty pizzas and subs. The spaghetti dinner is another local favorite.

Sakura Steak House, located right off I-74 on Rybolt Road, serves scrumptious Japanese fare in a festive hibachi setting. Expert chefs make an exciting show of preparing your food before heaping it onto your plate in generous portions. Choose from beef, shrimp or chicken piled high atop a mountain of fried rice or lo mein.

When it comes to nightlife, you won't find loud nightclubs and packed venues in Dent. Residents prefer the casual atmosphere of local bars. Stop into Bucketheads Sports Bar and Grill for a selection of local brews on tap, and enjoy the game on one of the restaurant's big screen TVs while sampling classic pub fare.

Drivers easily access Interstate 74 on the northern edge of the neighborhood, which eases commutes to other neighborhoods or even downtown Cincinnati. The streets in Dent do not include dedicated bake lanes, though cyclists find it possible to share the road with other vehicles in most areas. Cincinnati's public metro bus, SORTA, serves the area with routes that connect Dent with most other neighborhoods in the city. A cab can be called ahead for service, but don't expect to hail one on the street. Uber also serves Dent and the adjacent neighborhoods.

Down the road, Kuliga Park also includes a large picnic area along with a nature trail and several playgrounds. Kuliga Park welcomes children and leashed dogs. The park also hosts an annual concert and fireworks display on 4th of July weekend.

For golf enthusiasts, Neumann Golf course has everything you're looking for. Neumann includes three distinct 9-hole courses. Because Cincinnati Recreation Commission owns the golf course, fees remain lower than at private courses or country clubs. The course also offers equipment and cart rentals as well as golf lessons for players of all ages and ability levels.
