Gracing the banks of the Clinton River, 25 miles north of Detroit, Mount Clemens became notable in its own right with its world-renowned mineral baths. Discovered in the late 1800s, the baths drew people from around the country and across the globe. Remnants from this time remain today in the form of architecture and business names. The main road through town, Gratiot Avenue, offers residents direct access to downtown Detroit, and I-94 provides easy travel as well.

Small shops and restaurants line the cobblestone Cherry Street Mall, many with renovated apartments on the second floor so residents can live right where they work. Check out the quirky array of vinyl at Weirdsville Records before heading down the street to meet up with friends at Your Mother's Bar. Thirsty history buffs can head across the river to Eastside Tavern, one of the only true speakeasy bars still in existence and located in the basement of a two-story home. Grab a burger, and play some Euchre, a hometown favorite card game.
