John Dillinger hid out in Hotel Congress, built in 1919, and some residents claim the hotel is haunted. Then there are the restaurants -- including two James Beard award winners, Downtown Kitchen and Cocktails and Pizzeria Bianco. Congress Street is also the location of the 2nd Saturdays music festival.
In addition to Congress Street, Downtown Tucson is home to other unique districts. Main Gate connects Downtown to the university while 4th Avenue is Downtown Tucson's artistic side -- it is artistic, funky, and hip. It is also home to the 4th Avenue Street Fair. Other districts include the historic Presidio, Sentinel Peak, and Convention Center.
