It is bad for Riverside. Like I said, there are other neighborhoods to look into. The police are always alert in my neighborhood. Helicopters are a normal thing. just about every other corner house has graffitti. My home has been invaded by delinquents on several occasions. They have stolen my brothers bike, tried to break into the garage, and stolen bags of recycled water bottles. I live right in front of a baptist church and there are always homeless people sleeping on the doorsteps.

Right now I'm actually an parking lot security guard at couple different areas in Riverside. Since I been a security I've noticed how much people care about situation, and will make sure someone knows what's going on or get help.

Tons of places to eat around my area. I wouldn't walk anywhere at night unless necessary though

History

The city of Riverside has roots in the citrus market. In 1871, California's first orange trees were planted, spawning the state's citrus industry. By 1882, more than 500,000 citrus trees covered California and nearly half were in Riverside, founded by pioneer and statesman John North in 1870.

The Riverside Metropolitan Museum celebrates the city's rich history. With exhibits highlighting anthropology, natural science, and history, the museum invites residents to learn more about their fascinating town. The Riverside Metropolitan Museum also proudly hosts an annual children's tea at the historic Heritage House.

To esteem the arts, Fox Performing Arts Center sponsors Broadway shows; past productions have included classics such as "Les Miserables" and "Beauty and the Beast."

Restaurants

-

When you crave Italian food with a twist, head to Mario's Place on Mission Inn Avenue. With a self-described contemporary interpretation of Northern Italian cuisine, Mario's has an extensive menu. The restaurant's decor provides the perfect backdrop for intimate dinners or big celebrations. Locals rave over the sweet pea and ricotta tortellini. For dessert, order the caramelized banana napoleon.

To kick up your heels after dinner, check out the Vibe. Tucked along University Avenue, this neighborhood dive bar creates a community atmosphere in a small space. Don't look for finery or pretense in this joint. Just hit the dance floor and experience the Vibe.

Whether you're searching for a gift or something for yourself, Kelly's sells designer handbags, souvenirs and resort wear. Pick out a fragrant candle or a beaded necklace to take home.

Along Central Avenue lies one of the area's most popular malls; The Riverside Plaza holds a unique charm that defines the area. If you have a penchant for enchanting jewelry, visit Le Vive Jewelry at the Plaza. Consider a Tahitian pearl ring or a rose gold pendant adorned with champagne diamonds.
