A quiet getaway near several Washington cities

Located about a mile southeast of Downtown Spanaway, Elk Plain exudes a small-town atmosphere. If you prefer a laid-back lifestyle without the action of a big city, expect to enjoy life in this neighborhood. Similar to many Washington neighborhoods, Elk Plain is extremely wooded and features towering trees. Elk Plain is predominately residential, but there are small stores, several schools, daycare centers, and parks in the neighborhood. Elk Plain is also home to the Classic Golf Club.

Renters will find an array of single-family houses and apartments available for rent, spanning from mid-range to upscale rentals. Although Elk Plain feels quiet and secluded, the neighborhood is still proximate to several popular destinations. Along with Joint Base Lewis–McChord, Elk Plain is convenient to Tacoma, which is about a 30-minute drive away. Seattle and Bellevue are about an hour’s drive north, a great distance for a weekend trip.

good place unless you don't like being sort of in the middle of nowhere, not a place for people who like lots of movement and things actually happening, very stagnant, not much really changes except trees get taken down and houses get built

There are many different kinds of people in this community. I would choose to live in this community but in Puyallup, there are very welcoming and really help the county grow. However, my school district"s graduation rate has gone up 11.4% so I would encourage students to study in the Bethel School District.
