I love this area because it's close, within minutes drive, to everything in Orlando. There's a community center down the street where people can go to play basketball for free during specific areas. I love the community feel here with kids playing outside and everyone is respectful. There is also multiple shopping plazas within 5 minutes drive, which is very convenient. This area is perfect for people who want to be close to everything.

History

-

Burrowed within Orlando, Englewood Park shares the city's rich history. The first known people to inhabit the land were the Creek Native American tribe. In 1536, the demographics changed when Europeans arrived and took control of the land. Many historians believe that the area acquired its name from Orlando Reeves, who was killed in the Second Seminole War. The Reconstruction Era brought a population surge to the vicinity, which led to its incorporation in 1885. Shortly after being incorporated, the area became a major player in Florida's citrus industry. After the Florida Land Boom in the 1920s, several neighborhoods came to be, including Englewood Park. Major development continued, and today numerous renowned theme parks draw in tourists and residents alike. The Orlando Museum of Art celebrates the local arts scene through exemplary exhibits and galleries. The annual Festival of Trees in November kicks off the holiday season.
