As Charlotte started to grow and expand in the early 1900s, suburbs like South Park began to pop up throughout the city. There are a number of local museums located nearby that are worth checking out, including the Mint Museum and the Charlotte Nature Museum. Each October, the South Park mall hosts the Great Grapes Wine and Food festival featuring live music, food and over 100 wines available for tasting.
