Great Bend is a small city on the plains of central Kansas, located about one hundred miles northwest of Wichita. Historically a cultural and economic hub surrounded by farmlands, the entire city is full of preserved homes and buildings, with the Main Street district in particular hosting a number of vintage storefronts still in active use as shops, restaurants, and other locally-owned businesses. Near the center of town, Brit Spaugh Park provides a great outdoor hangout for locals, featuring its own water park and zoo.
