Located about an hour north of Chicago, Great Lakes is the Navy’s largest training facility and home to the Navy’s only boot camp. Founded in 1911, this historic base sprawls across over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan and has multiple buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
