If you travel by car, the Westbank Expressway will provide quick access to the entirety of the Westbank. The expressway is also the direct route to the Crescent City Connection, a pair of bridges across the Mississippi River between the Westbank and New Orleans. In the other direction, the Westbank Expressway (as U.S. 90) will bring you to the Huey P. Long Bridge and across the Mississippi River, to the suburbs of Elmwood and Metairie and points beyond. Jefferson Parish, the parish (that is, the county) in which Harvey is located, has a well-developed public transportation system, Jefferson Transit or JeT. 

Shops in Harvey include Lowe’s Home Improvement, a Wal-Mart Supercenter, and Sam’s Club. Another thousand feet farther along is Target. If you’re somehow not satisfied, to the north are Bed Bath & Beyond, the Mattress Firm, the Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, Best Buy, the Manhattan Plaza Shopping Center, the Manhattan Square Shopping Center, and the Centre at Westbank. If you are seeking something more upscale, the Shops at Canal Place, including Saks Fifth Avenue, are only 13–14 minutes away by car or 46–65 minutes by bus.
