Meet the Chile Capital of the World
Hatch is a village in southern New Mexico, about 80 miles north of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. This rural town offers affordable, but high-quality rentals. The town is an agricultural hub, growing onions, pecans, sweet potatoes, and other crops in the surrounded valleys. Hatch is best known as the “Chile Capital of the World” and hosts the annual Chile Festival during Labor Day weekend, which attracts over 30,000 visitors from across New Mexico and Texas. Thousands of spicy peppers are grown in Hatch each year! The Chile Festival is just one of the many events that keep this close-knit community together.
