Hayesville is a great neighborhood to raise kids in. Schools are near by, parks are close, and there is even a swimming pool!

Mostly Mexican themed restaurants are everywhere. There a few interesting restaurants in the south side of town with different meals. However, this town has few options. Nightlife is only found in dive bars. There isn't a big music scene or dance scene for the younger crowd.

History

Hayesville was originally inhabited by the Kalapuya Native Americans. The first western pioneers arrived to the area in 1812, and worked as trappers and fur traders. The area developed into a residential and business center during the 1900s. As the community of Salem matured, neighboring communities such as Hayesville were born. Head to the Mission Mill Museum to learn more about the area’s rich history.

Hayesville sits southwest of Portland, and lies off Interstate 5 and Highway 99 East. It should take around 49 minutes to drive from Hayesville to Portland via Interstate 5 North. On-street public parking remains widely available throughout the area.

When looking to hail a cab, call up DC Taxi or BMW Taxi Services. Uber does not provide service to the Hayesville area.

Numerous bicycle-friendly roads circle around the area, and a bike trail goes through the central area of town. Many of the shops and attractions sit a bit spread out, making the area slightly difficult to access on foot.

The Salem Area Mass Transit District bus route services Hayesville. This route provides buses that connect to the Trimet public transit in the greater Portland area.
