Dining Mountain Great Location Commuter Outdoors

Located about 30 minutes south of San Francisco in the Montara Mountain Valley, Hillsborough is a predominately residential town. As one of the Bay Area’s most upscale communities, Hillsborough features lavish apartments and chic mansions. The town borders Burlingame and San Mateo, which are both filled with shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Head over to Downtown Mateo for a plethora of global restaurants and a variety of Asian cuisine eateries, serving everything from Mongolian hot pots to Japanese sushi to Taiwanese bubble tea.

After you’ve finished your meal, head over to the nearby movie theater or the San Mateo Central Park, a 16-acre family-friendly park with a mini train ride, playground, and ice-skating rink. If you’re feeling adventurous, the trails that loop through Montara Mountain offer stellar views. Once you’ve secured your rental in Hillsborough, be sure to check out the town’s two extremely unique landmarks: the Flintstone House and Carolands Chateau. The Flintstone House brings the American cartoon to life with a bit of modern flair, while the Carolands Chateau is a gorgeous Gilded Age mansion.

Traveling in and around Hillsborough is made easy with accessible public transportation. There are a few bus stops in town and several rail stations that travel up to the Golden City. For even more convenience, the San Francisco International Airport is only five miles away. If you want to live in a quiet, yet high-end city that’s close to a variety of amenities, find your new home in Hillsborough.
