History

-

Hillwood Country Club was originally part of the H.G. Hill Estate, eventually chartered as a country club in 1953. The private member country club remains an established neighborhood to live and play.

No museums call this neighborhood home, but residents can enjoy several within a short driving distance. Not too far from Hillwood, in the center of Centennial Park, sits the Parthenon. The building and its 42-foot Athena statue example exact replicas of the Greek structures. The building also houses Nashville's art museum. The permanent collection features a mixture of 19th and 20th century American artists with varying rotating exhibits throughout the year.

Each year, the Parthenon hosts the Annual Conservancy Gala, an event focused on design and elegance. The black-tie affair serves to raise funds in support of the Parthenon and Centennial Park.
