I specifically enjoy living in my area because most of my friends are easily accessible until they leave for school. The general atmosphere is pretty peaceful and friendly, however, there are bound to be some unfriendly encounters, but that is only natural in any area.

The neighborhood experienced rapid growth during the late 1990s and early 2000s when the Riverwalk master-planned community was built, creating around 500 luxury apartments and 1,000 single-family homes.

To experience La Sierra's cultural side, check out the World Museum of Natural History and Brandstater Art Gallery at the university. Don't miss annual events around Riverside like A Taste of the Inland Empire featuring top food vendors, fine wine, imported beers and live jazz bands.

Go the healthy route with the fresh avocado wrap filled with pine nuts and spinach, or enjoy a moment of nostalgia with the vegan grilled cheese. After eating your fill, grab some lentils and soy milk at the adjacent natural foods store.

If you crave Mediterranean cuisine, make your way over to Greek Street Grill. Sample the gyro pitas, and be sure to order a side of spicy feta fries. For a lighter meal, savor the complex flavoris of the lemon chicken soup. When the sun sets, the streets of La Sierra come alive with a humble array of sports grills, bars and movie theaters.
