Lakefront living in the heart of Raleigh

Lake Resort Outdoor Activities Fishing Boating Hiking Shopping NC State Downtown

There's much to be said about lakefront living -- the views, the peacefulness, the activities, the wildlife. And when the lake is minutes from Downtown Raleigh and North Carolina State University, life at the lake gets that much sweeter. If boating, fishing, paddle-boarding, canoeing, and kayaking are your favorite pastimes, you'll love the Lake Johnson neighborhood. This large lake is surrounded by Lake Johnson Park, which offers rentals for boats, paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks. The lake also provides boat launches and a boardwalk for fishing. The park includes a swimming pool, a spray ground, a snack bar, nearly five miles of hiking trails, and picnic shelters.

The Lake Johnson neighborhood is bordered by two major highways, I-440 and I-40, for quick commutes throughout the Research Triangle. With only about five miles to Downtown Raleigh, two miles to NC State, and 17 miles to RTP, residents of Lake Johnson may feel as though they are on vacation when they're home, but they're minutes from everything. Shops and restaurants are located just outside the neighborhood, including the popular Cary Towne Center shopping mall.
