Charming Luna Park is located a few blocks northeast of historic Japantown, only minutes away from bustling Downtown San Jose. Luna Park is a quiet, mostly residential area with a park-like feel. The community’s namesake park is a popular spot for dog walking. However, Luna Park is best known for its involvement in other parks nearby. Backesto Park, right outside the neighborhood, is home to the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival, an annual event hosted by the Luna Park Arts Foundation. The festival brings in people from across San Jose to create or admire over 250 chalk masterpieces. Like many neighborhoods near downtown, Luna Park has a wide variety of eateries to choose from along Oakland Road.
