Just south of I-94 on the lower edge of Brownell Woods, Lynwood is a sleepy Illinois village on the edge of the Windy City. Residents praise Lynwood for its serene atmosphere and family-friendly environment. With the outdoor expanse of Brownell Woods to the north it’s easy to get out and walk the dog or take a stroll in the warmer months.

You’ll have to venture just outside of Lynwood for local eateries and entertainment spots, but there are plenty of cafes, breweries, and restaurants, as well as neighboring communities like Maynard. Chicago is just a short drive to the north, but it’s also accessible via train, making a commute from your apartment easy, with or without a car
