A cozy community with natural beauty

Family-Friendly Wooded Lake River Outdoors Historic

Minutes from Lake Erie and just north of the Grand River, Madison's charm begins with its natural beauty and extends to its historic downtown shopping district. Located off I-90, Madison is about 38 miles northeast of Downtown Cleveland. Heavily wooded and rural, Madison is home to roughly 3,000 residents. The historic downtown features a variety of shops, restaurants, and taverns along brick-paved walkways, complete with a town square.

The beautiful landscape is celebrated in nearby parks, such as Paine Falls Park, where a picturesque waterfall is the star. Hell Hollow Wilderness Area also features a waterfall. More hiking, along with cliffs and hidden waterfalls, can be found at Hogback Ridge Metropolitan Park. During the summer, Headlands Beach State Park, located on Lake Erie, provides a mile-long sand beach for swimming, hiking trails, fishing areas, and picnic areas. During winter, the park is open for cross-country skiing. Geneva State Park, also on the lake, provides more swimming, fishing, and hiking opportunities in addition to a marina, cottages, a lodge, and a restaurant. Next to this popular park you'll find wineries, Adventure Zone, and shops along Lake Road.
