Military Suburb Shopping Interstate Parks Nature Outdoors Scenic College

Miramar is an inland suburban community positioned about fifteen miles north of downtown San Diego. This part of town is best known for Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, the longtime home of the legendary TOPGUN flight program. Enjoying a relatively central location with easy access to Interstates 15 and 805, Miramar is a popular spot for businesses and commuters as well as military personnel and civilian military employees seeking off-base housing close to work.

The north end of the neighborhood near I-15 is the most heavily residential area, with a wide selection of rental options in close proximity to a huge shopping district around the Mira Mesa Boulevard exit. To the east, the sprawling Scripps Ranch provides terrific scenery as well as a vast venue for experiencing the region’s rugged beauty.
