Mount Bernon is a very family and pet friendly area. Wide range of housing options. Very good schools in Fairfax County.

The area could be better there is always general concern for the decline in public education. I have know intention to return to this area after graduation. There are multiple active gangs in the area.

I love living in Alexandria. There are so many fun things to do near by such as going to Old Town, heading to the national zoo, going to see museums in D.C. The school's in the area are really academically challenging and are getting more competitive each year. I wouldn't want to grow up anywhere else. I think it is the perfect blend of the suburbs and the city. I would love to live here when I am older. I think the school's will eventually be some of the best in the country and that it has a bright future.

Living within an historic area that brings in a lot of tourism means I benefit from living near a wide range of restaurants, including family-friendly pizza parlors to five-star restaurants specializing in French cuisine. Additionally, there are "quick-bite" independently owned eateries, such as delis and bakeries.
