Murray hill is a very youth influenced neighborhood. The people moving in are typically young couples or young families which makes for a pretty calm community.

There are plenty of great people and some cool things if you know where to look but there's also issues with crime and a lot of unpleasant individuals. If you have a tough skin iyou can make it a good place to live but it's not for everyone.
