Maybe the police should spend less time on drivers.

I've been living for around 3 years now and I was never afraid to walk on the streets alone. Whenever something happens the police arrive within minutes.

Neighbors look out for each other. There're a lot of pets around and everyone is very accepting to having pets all around.

Living in Neighbors Southwest

History

-

Scholls Ferry Road, named after Peter Scholl, an early settler in the area, runs through modern-day Neighbors Southwest. In earlier times, Scholls Ferry was one of the important crossing sites of the Tualatin River. Before settlers arrived, the Tualatin Valley housed the Kalapuya Native Americans.

Beaver-made lakes were drained, and farms were established in the fertile land left behind. Beaverton was officially platted in 1868, and was the site of agricultural and industrial fields including brick-making, flour-milling and timber production. By 1908, electrified rail service took commuters to and from Beaverton quickly and cleanly. Post WWII saw the creation of Highway 26, and housing and commercial developments.

Beaverton maintains a reputation for its tech industry, apparel companies and food production. Agricultural influences persist in the form of wineries and farmer's markets.
