Northshore is an unlikely blend of art and sports. It is busy, yet beautiful, packed with skyscrapers and riverfront parks. Located directly across the Allegheny River from Downtown Pittsburgh, Northshore provides a fantastic view of the skyline and three bridges for easy downtown access. This is the home of Heinz Field, and the area becomes a sea of black and gold when the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers are playing. If you are moving to an apartment in Northshore, don't forget to pack your Terrible Towel. During baseball season, PNC Park -- home of the MLB Pittsburgh Pirates -- is the place to be. If you prefer art and culture, this neighborhood also contains the Andy Warhol Museum and the Carnegie Science Center.
Northshore is very pedestrian-friendly, and getting to downtown is as easy as a trip across a bridge or a ride on the T (it's free). After moving to Northshore, you'll be able to enjoy walking or jogging along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, which offers fantastic views of the city and the river. For a fun evening out, head to Rivers Casino. In addition to slots and poker, the casino offers live shows and three restaurants. Head into downtown to shop at the Market Square, or spend some time a Point State Park -- where the Ohio, Allegheny, and Monongahela Rivers come together. This park offers hiking and bicycling trails, boating, fishing, and the Fort Pitt Museum. Be sure to visit the Fort Pitt Blockhouse, the only surviving structure at Fort Pitt, dating back to 1764.
