As the largest Catholic university on the West Coast, Loyola Marymount has been a major contributor to the Los Angeles academic community for over a century. Playa Del Rey is only a few blocks to the west, and many of the nearby neighborhoods offer easy walking access to both the university and the beach. A network of parks and trails runs adjacent to the Loyola campus, providing great opportunities to walk, run, or bike around the area at your leisure. The campus is also practically right next door to LAX, making it easy to hop a flight and get out of town for a long weekend. Rental rates around the university can be a bit pricey, but you can often find great deals on rental houses and condos within a short walk of the main campus.
