Located on the west side of Downtown Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University forms the largest member of the historic Atlanta University Center Consortium. Formed in 1988 from the merger of two universities founded in the 1860s, CAU is steeped in tradition and consistently ranked near the top of the list among Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Clark Atlanta operates a top-notch Nanoscale Science Ph. D. program, and also broadcasts Atlanta’s only Jazz radio station.
