The University of Scranton has been a fixture in its namesake city for well over a century, tracing its roots back to 1888. Enrolling around 6,000 students overall, U of S is highly regarded as one of the top regional universities in the North, earning particular recognition from U.S. News & World Report for being one of the best colleges for veterans and one of the best value schools. In addition to more traditional core curriculum and research opportunities, the university offers a program in Special Jesuit Liberal Arts, reflecting the school’s Catholic foundation.
