Situated in the quiet Normal Station neighborhood, the University of Memphis is a major research institution driven by doing. Students gain real world experience to become tomorrow’s leaders through U of M’s Emerging Leaders Program. Founded in 1912, U of M is home to Tennessee’s largest honors program and boasts more than 250 areas of study. Membership in the American Athletic Conference and NCAA Division I level sports teams bond U of M Tigers with the community on a regular basis.

Many apartments, townhomes, and single-family houses are available for rent around the University of Memphis. College of Education students and faculty may narrow their options to the south side of campus, with access to Southern Avenue, while those frequenting the FedEx Institute of Technology might prefer to look on the campus’ north side, with convenience to Central Avenue.
