Tucked among the vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley, Orcutt is a terrific community directly south of Santa Maria. It is named for William Warren Orcutt, a geologist who discovered fossils in the La Brea Tar Pits in 1901. Old Town Orcutt was established in 1904, and today this downtown area is home to shops, breweries, taverns, and wineries all wrapped in fantastic mountain views. Old Town Orcutt is located along Clark Avenue from roughly Gray Street to Broadway.
